Ad Space

Hey guys currently,

I am looking to purchase some banners and ad space to advertise War2ru. I found a couple websites like

and
http://www.adsharemarket.com/category/gaming

But I would like to hear some input before I go buying up ad space.

When would you plan on buying it? If you would plan on buying it in a few days, i'd hold off. Maybe until the antihack is with a more wider range of players, and maybe if they can fix some of the display issues for  windows 10 (which the server will get at least a couple from an advertisement like this)

I was planning to buy it in couple days.
But I don't mind holding off a bit. Until all the bugs on war2 are fixed.

However when the time comes be it tomorrow or next month or 3 months from now.
What type of ad space would you say we should purchase?

I'm not too sure on the types that there are. Maybe discuss this with someone like tk whos done paid advertisements in the past

http://www.projectwonderful.com/ is another one I've heard that's supposed to be cheap, but haven't looked into it much.


Advertising is hard to get right. Unless you're lucky and hit on the exact right combination of appearance/wording/platform on the first try then you'll probably end up pissing away a bunch of money with little return. It takes a lot of experimentation and split testing to figure out what works. Facebook ads are nice because you can choose specific demographics to target which makes it a little less scattershot. We did get some tangible results from tk's & burnt's ad campaigns, but nothing that appears to have lasted.

Its a self maintained script, it auto ranks the servers based on players online in real time.

Facebook ads are good. But I just don't really see the results.
Or maybe I am just using it wrong who knows.

I am debating purchasing about 3-6 months worth on the two websites I posted and the website mouse posted.
If I blow some cash so be it.
Trial and error is what I am going to call it.

The question now is when do you guys think I should begin?

I don't really know if we have any resolution to the Win8/Win10 lobby display situations in sight, so I'm not sure if you should wait for that.

What we should do is figure out the best measures we have to help with that, and then maybe just put a notice on the download page, even if we have no measures to fix it, still put a notice.  Like

NOTE WIN8/WIN10 USERS: THERE ARE DISPLAY ISSUES IN THE SERVER LOBBY, BUT GAMEPLAY FUNCTIONS FINE.
