A Gawker article about a subject exists, therefore its a serious problem we should pay attention to. Sounds legit.

it's more than just the gawker article, it's social media in general. from highly upvoted shitposts on reddit, highly liked tweets, etc.  it's not difficult to find the average opinion of the bernie supporter.

"how is trivializing black lives matter movement a big difference from trivializing issues black people have?"
i did not say they were "trivializing" blm, you did and i disagreed with that.  i said they were angry with blm for disrupting bernie's event.  if you disrupt somebodys event some people will be mad at you and that should be obvious.  that doesn't make everyone racist.  btw not only is bernie their best possible ally, he's far enough left that he literally cannot win the presidency, which makes targeting him funny imo.  and i don't really know why they n eed to "demand answers" from him when he has a perfect record on civil rights going back decades.

they were literally screaming in his face and shit lol.  and some campaign staffer or something was like "we will let you speak, after bernie" and they were like "no" and kept screaming to let them talk now, even though, really, rushing the stage of an event with 30k people and being told "yes you can speak to this audience when we're done" seems like itd be pretty win.  then the campaign relented and let them speak first and they still shut the rally down.  so, why is it not okay to be critical of them?  i agree with them that cops are racist pigs, but does that mean anything protesters do is always the best way to do things no matter how they go about it?  that theyre incapable of doing dumb stuff?  of course not

lastly my point is that bernie sanders could be saying "socialism ftw, check out this platform" and some activist can be like "actually we need lower taxes, and also black lives matter."  and identity politics liberal fucktards would look at the two and be like "hmmmmmm, gotta support the activist here.  bernie isnt sufficiently strong on race."   even though if they read through any of his history theyd see hes put out plenty on race.  it's just dumb.  a trans person or black person or something can say something completely irrational or outright wrong and have people back them just because of identity.

dude bernie doesn't get a free pass because he walked with mlk a hundred years ago. also if they let them speak after bernie who would have stayed lol. they were only there for bernie. the fact is black people are being slaughtered and imprisoned an inordinate amount over whites, and so considering this i can't criticize nor accept it as legitimate criticism that they were being too loud or a bit aggressive. that is totally understandable to me.

lol it's not that he walked with mlk fifty years ago, it's that he's supported civil rights his entire career, already backs all the stuff the blm people are arguing for, and on top of that his economic platform is the best thing short of revolution that's up for offer.  you can say "well their fight is important, and doing this got them a lot of attention."  fine.  i dont care if someone believes that, and i can see that viewpoint.  but some people will certainly be upset that bernie's event got shut down!  they will say what i said in the first sentence and then be like "wtf is wrong with these protesters?"  somehow that compeltely understandable reaction becomes, remember what started all this discussion in this thread, "Bernie's Problem With Race."

A free pass from...what exactly? What are people giving him a pass on? All those build more prisons and throw more black people in them bills he sponsored?

Goddamn dude you're allowed to disagree with a black person. If they were saying vote for Jeb Bush to end white supremacy in the United States are you not going to criticize that? Nor accept as legitimate criticism anyone who does? Christ.

Crazy Lady Who Used to Support Sarah Palin Just a Couple Years Ago: "FUCK YOU BERNIE SANDERS!!! BLACK LIVES MATTER!!! STFU AND LET US TALK!!!!"

Reasonable Person: "I understand your concerns and am fully supportive of the cause you are fighting for. However, I do question the tactical wisdom of coming down so hard on the one candidate who most supports your cause and putting on kid gloves for the establishment candidate. Can you explain your actions here in a way that makes sense to me?"

Jon: "It is not your place to question this person because they are black and/or ostensibly acting in support of a black cause."

Ben Carson: "We need to drone strikes illegals crossing the border and nuke Iran."

Jon: "Well, this man sounds dangerously insane and retarded, but who am I to criticize a black man?"

first i question the true sincerity of his civil rights activism considering he's a zionist. i mean you support modern day israel but you care about human rights? , lol. second, bernie wasn't backing everything BLM is protesting for, he literally started developing a plan of how to deal with the issues that BLM brought up, after the incident. so despite all the criticisms BLM did get, it worked.

i'm talking directly to blid you utter moron, who thinks because of some of his earlier activism, blacks should give him a pass. start reading or stop posting in here.

holy shit, thanks. i wasn't sure i was allowed to disagree with blacks, i've never done this before.
however i'm saying i don't think it's legitimate criticism to say they were rude or loud, considering what they're emotionally charged about is completely understandable, not that legitimate criticism of BLM doesn't exist at all.

But what is there to give him a pass on? "Giving a pass" is an expression that implies you are excusing some type of wrong or harmful behavior. So what are we debating giving him a pass on?

however i'm saying i don't think it's legitimate criticism to say they were rude or loud, considering what they're emotionally charged about is completely understandable, not that legitimate criticism of BLM doesn't exist at all.

Ah yes, The Tone Argument,

shit , you're the same dude who called anyone who didn't think kanye west was the best artist of all time racists.

That's true though.

giving him a pass on criticism from the BLM movement because of his earlier activism.
