I have windows 8 on this laptop/notebook thing and it is just messed up on the channel / and when getting ready to host a game. Is there anyone currently working on a Windows 8 fix for that? I hope it's not the same on 10.

just set 640x480 on the "Warcraft II BNE.exe" compatibility tab for now.

the next step IMO would be to intercept GDI and USER in addition to DDRAW.
Replace all Window Device Contexts with Memory Device Contexts to allow GDI drawing to be redirected to an offscreen bitmap.

I've ported over the system window classes from Wine to avoid the need to hook system modules.
However, my attempts to redirect GDI output isn't currently working.
Anybody interested in helping?

It's pretty complicated for me also. Ddraw is very specific part and is not related to anything else.

Aqrit is expert in that ddraw tasks, i'd say the best expert in the world, i hope he will be able (and have enough time) to do that himself.

He already released improved ddraw fix for win7 that totally fixes palette even after alt-tab, but that fix unfortunately breaks SS. I hope he will do something to fix that, otherwise i have no idea who else can do that...

but which SS? my chat SS is already fucked up. Are you talking about the in-game SS?

The listboxes, buttons on the left. The game on the right. Icons are there and graphics display properly. But the black background behind buttons, listboxes, etc are on top causing it to be broken. Texts displays on top of old text looks like not refreshing....

Yes, both. Current in-chat SS shows chat screen without text. New ddraw fix works perfect, but SS in-chat / in-game shows empty cyan / purple screen.

That means SS by request will be impossible, so we can't share that fix between the community.
I'll try to fix that, but it's not so easy for me. So i still hope aqrit can do that himself.
Would be great for all war2 and starcraft players also i think.

that fix sounds sexy and this issue could be fixed with warvideo (?). Guy pauses and asks for Ss, i minimize and start warvid at the same time, voila.
warvid > ss anyway. CAN I HAZ?

In world ranklist is 3 star & italy one 1st and second but they are not playing against eachother..
Is there something wrong or is the war pool random?
