Well if everyone gets an icon, it will indeed be a gimmick. If it's for tournament winners only, it may encourage players to participate... i don't know, unlike 95% players here, i actually play the game and participate in as many tournaments as I can...

I don't recommend using the icons.bni tupac uploaded iL, it still needs some work. For example, the icons.bni in my pvpgn comes with a ton more icons by default that aren't in tupac's file. Maybe he deleted them? But why not keep them? Some are cool. e.g.

Icons are fun, but they're a gimmick either way imo. You don't need them to play. If people are more interested in some bullshit 28x14 image than they are in playing, they're missing the point. I think I'm with tk on this, spend more time promoting and playing and the server may actually start growing again, and stuff like this will become more than 8 people palavering endlessly about irrelevant tweaks. (I know you do, but it goes for everyone.)

Yes, just opened that with bniiconbuilder.
"Proper" file should at least contain all the existing icons (with the same tags). Can be easily donwloaded using bnftp from current server.
Then you should append it with several useful icons.
I can replace that file if you check that file to be compatible with war2 and war2 shows icons properly. Also the question is how we will use these icons.

I don't think we should care of our time spent on icons (it really takes several minutes to upload and apply), but icons should be checked and to be useful.

I just took the regular .bni from war2 not ru, I uploaded the incorrect bni sorry. I was having issues with the tags and set them to flags.

It was just my sample run I suck at imaging. I used paint to make all the icons I added and didnt spend more then 20 minutes on this. I figured you guys would find this software very useful ! Enjoy

Found a bug when i save it, scrambles all of my icons and names wtf.........

EDIT: FIX BUG!!!!!

Someone tell me if they have an issue too. When I get home I will extract to tga and use the bni builder from pvpgn...

Nop, no bug here so far. I viewed my custom icons.bni from war2.me, rearranged a few, saved, reopened, it's fine. Also did "save as" to a new file, and that's okay too.


Also, what's the difference between flag & tag? Flag is linked to permissions? Can that be controlled in the config files? e.g. set which flag to use for admins? Or if I wanted to customize that, would I have to overwrite the 0x00000001 flag with a new image?

Flag is icon debug. It's can be a permanent value set just using fake client tag.

We'll I have windows 8.1 I can record what happened this is crazy. And of course It would work on xp vm...
