Remastering Dying Games and Get Lost Buddy

The W2 remaster is an opportunity for W2 to have a better, bigger future than that of a tiny, dying game.

Every person who spends money on this old game is looking for the same thing we are: they want to have a fun time.

Every "worthless newb" is a human being. In real life, they are office workers, cops, lawyers, managers, politicians, musicians, hotel staff, parents. Many of them are adults with limited free time. If they have a good time at W2, they are likely to play again. If they are treated rudely, told "Get lost, newb" and the like, there are countless other games, movies, shows, and things they can do for fun other than W2.

It's in the best interest of pros who love W2 and enjoy the glory of being great at something to have a game that is active and popular. It's in your best interest to be polite to newcomers, newb or not, because the future depends on having a playerbase.

I'm not saying you have to play with them even or make friendship bracelets for each other while braiding hair, just that you can say "We are playing with friends and need your spot" which won't leave such distaste in a person's mind towards the whole game experience and think "Wow W2 players are dicks".

This is an opportunity for W2 and it would be a mistake to apply the "ru welcome" (ie GTFO loser!") that successfully drove countless people out of ru.

The new "cool" is being considerate, welcoming, and friendly and forgoing the high of feeling above someone for a few moments of glee while bashing someone who thought W2 might be a fun thing to try.

Don't assume there is an endless stream of newcomers. If they have a bad time, they will find something more fun to do.

Not much glory in being "the best player" among 50 in a world of 8 billion.

You want to be a king, but if you have no subjects, who will you have dominion over? A king needs peons to chop the wood.

You are pretty good at my favorite game, and that's kind of neat. W2 skills intrigue me. It's a fantaaastic game.

You may not believe me, but I want more happiness and joy for you than you seem to want for yourself. The more people that are playing W2, the more easily any W2 player can find a game, even at weird Australian hours. More people will keep coming back to W2 if they have a fun time on it. It's basic logic that you don't have to get emotional over.

Being nice to others will make you smile more. It's weird how that works.

(Your first inclination may be to reiterate that I should have rocks thrown at my head and be run over by a bus, etc., but really, I mean, that's maybe a bit overkill for having read a few words from an internet stranger.)

I've never wished you harm, and still don't.

There is a W2 newb called Asmondgold on YT who got 464K views 2 days ago playing W2 campaign. He has 3.1 million subscribers and probably made more money newbing it up on W2 campaigns than either of us have ever made in our lives. It's estimated that he makes 2.5 million dollars per year. Even if you don't do it for concern for others, even totally selfishly if you think it through logically, it would serve you to be nice to newbs since you never know which one can influence thousands or millions of other people that could either greatly enrich or destroy the game you love. Doesn't mean you have to play with them even, just be human to them since they are human beings somewhere who have bad and hard days sometimes and are maybe looking to use their free time to rest and relax rather than be insulted and told to gtfo from the new game they just paid for, maybe excited to relive some childhood memories.

Ah yes being rude towards new players will help the game being somewhat popular we did it Patrick we saved wc2!! By hurling toxic insults at new comers because they don't know how to play a game so freaking old , but like on a serious note why such obscure games with small communities always have people who been playing for so long and are so toxic??.

You don't need that stupid American no lifer for this game to get popular I personally don't want the idiotic WOW players to infest this game nope rather have the much more humble RTS players from other game franchises.

This may sound contradictory with what I said first but you know what if I have to be in the same community as that smelly piece of human garbage known as asmangold and his worthless fans I would rather let this game stay in its niche state either we have good minded people come to play this game or better no new comers at all
Today warcraft is not the warcraft it used to be , lets stick to what made warcraft warcraft! ORCS AND HUMANS

Smurfs ruin that. We think everyone is a smurf b/c most of them are. So, the new ones are collateral damage.
