Warcraft 2 Battle.net Edition has stopped working, Windows 8.1

So as the subject says, every time i try to execute W2BNE.exe shown in attchment. Combat Edition loads the patcher and then doesnt do anything, the game does not open. Any ideas?

Does war2 normally run on your computer?

it did when i first got it but after the first or maybe second time it stopped running, i have recently updated my windows so im not sure what to do, i also added both exe's to Data Execution and added exceptions on my anti virus aswell.

A restart usually fixes this problem, have you tried it?

yes multiple times and ive reinstalled both games

try running it under compatibility mode windows 98 or XP.

Also i changed compatibility mode to Windows XP S3 and added Administrations and also allowed access to all users.

Nope 98 doesnt work either.

Are you trying to run Battle.net Edition War2 or War2 Combat Edition from http://server.war2.ru ?

Do you have any idea what you recently updated? Did you just upgrade to windows 8.1? Or was it standard maintenance updates?

I have run War2 Combat Edit on Windows 8.1 with latest updates, I don't see a problem.

I think this: (sawa disappeared after posting, but i think he has exactly the same problem):

Windows 8, right? I think that's  the main problem, there were not so many tests under win8.
When does it happen, which moment? Right after you start war2?
I have several ideas:
1.

Restart your computer.

2. Check and try to disable DEP: http://windows8themes.org/how-to-disable-data-execution-prevention-in-windows-8.html
3. Try to right-click war2 icon and run as administrator.
4. Try to run "war2combat without patches" in you start menu - programs - war2combat (Or using war2nocdloader in war2combat folder)

Well who did beta testing the loader?? Maybe start doing that before release software!? I think this is just the beginning of errors from players.
