Better than U8?

Speaking just in terms of 1vs1s, I personally think I am better than anyone ever at them. That's nothing new, everyone knows I've always thought that. Also, I know that I could just be wrong. Just about everyone at or near the top of anything probably has a heightened sense of their own abilities - it comes with the territory.

I think U8 has a lot of advantages over the current era.

-I don't know about now, but he was very active against good competition for a long period of time.
-He seems to have a motivation/passion for the game that none of the other top players have.
-The game's meta has without a doubt evolved in a lot of ways over the last 2-3 years, and I think U8 might even be responsible for a lot of that.

All of those three things are massive advantages. The last of the three is the most fascinating to me, because me vs him is clearly an outdated style vs a more evolved one. It would take me some games to close that gap and get up to speed on some of the changes, but I think once I did it would be very bad for U8. Of course, that is all speculation because I'm long passed ever playing the game like that. It's fun to imagine though

U8 is very smart and innovative, and perhaps his biggest disadvantage is that he didn't get the opportunity to play the very best players during their peaks - perhaps he would have gotten even better.

In hindsight, that was too amicable. Not very Swift like.

This is how it plays out if U8 and I just play countless GOW games day after day: It's near even for the first 20-30 games, unless hes completely motivated (by money, ego, fun or w/e), then in that case he'll take a slight edge for the first 20-30 just because I can't match his motivation. Either way, after that 3-5 back to back series, I would figure out his style/gimmicks while also unrusting and then he wouldn't be much of a challenge. He would win a game occasionally because he's good.

As for non-gow, there would be some maps that I am better than him at, and others that it would take me a good while to surpass him on - he's very good at team games in HSC for example. I've only played him a few times on it, but I learned a LOT from him on that map.
