Also.. Moore's law. Processing power doubles every 2 years. It's been pretty accurate up to this point, and now we're entering the age of Quantum Computers.

This will play a factor in the amount of energy needed to mine 1 bitcoin.

haha, remember he told everyone put their life savings in 5 years ago and we all thought he was crazy. probably smurfking is living in the virgin islands on a 100ft catamaran yatch. :)

Apparently, ASICS will still be faster than quantum computers for mining bitcoin for the next 10 years.  Also, Moore's law hasn't really held true for a while now because you can only shrink transistors so much.  Intel has only had 5-15% ipc improvements generation to generation for roughly the past 8 years.
