 I will be pushing forward with my ModCraft server. Should I list ru in my server lists? I would expect the same back.

My server will not be the same as this warcraft 2 server. ModCraft will be a heavily moded warcraft 2 server for many different clients also real time mods apply also.

Let me know your thoughts RU staff.

Every kind of mods possible even cross compatible on ru server. Orges that can cast blizzard, etc. We are still currently developing more features and we have had great success!

I am currently developing a tool with many people's research to take modifying to the next level. My cheat code host bot will be on the ModCraft server. Tons of stuff you all will have to wait and see. When the tool is released anybody will have the power to change spells, range, cost, units from farms, new units, and so on. So maybe some one can finally switch up game play and even out human and orc if they would like.

Just all you warcrafters stay tuned!

Strong archers and self-healing knights

Actually self-healing knights would be probably too hard to mod.  Maybe just lower mana price of heal by 1/2.  Or pump up knights so they're slightly stronger than ogres.  This would give humans an edge in the keep/stronghold phase of the game that then is lost at the lust phase

Yes or give knight ability to cast eye then make that a small air unit to fight with the knight?

tupac youre probably very good at making this stuff, but at the same terrible at the general concept of balancing races. still though, i hope this happens so hummies can be stronger mid-game

Nothing I said would have a negative impact. Think about it a lusted orge own my knight... but I casted the eye and he is a fighting unit now the orge is dead and lusted Orges would need to be with archers. ;)

Or maybe they won't need archer? Because the eye is an undead unit who will expire? 0.o

If knights had a stronger base than ogres, human players would get real annoying, they already do the thing where they attack and then run away when you lust, it's very micro-intensive, but imagine them attacking and running all the time with strong knights, and you can never get the edge on them because any time you're lusted they run off

Well there would be no running if knights had an small air unit to makes up for lists damaged. We can also make palis excism spell work on orges... done it's even now.

Definitely some interesting ideas, reminds me of that map I played when I was younger vs computers
where grunts shot cannon balls and ogers shot gryphon flames, it was pretty cool. Took me 5 hours to beat Lol.

One of the best and simplest ways to balance the races would be to give humans the ability to make a church at hold. Ogres would have to adopt a more defensive posture for mid game and humans could expand their map control enough to hopefully set the pieces for the lust stage where they don't have worry about securing an expansion and would be better positioned to start a mage bomb factory or a secondary temple dedicated to invis attacks. Would also ensure saps and fliers would be utilized and present for late game for humans. This would allow humans to better use anti DK with Polymorph to pick off dks and exorcism. And since churches would pretty much get built every human game, it would by extension make gryphons much more formidable at the lust stage!

Exorcism should be 1000, Polymorph should maybe be 1500 and slow should have better range. If you can begin slow sooner with a couple mages with healing paladins that provides some pretty good parity for a lust attack it would come down to who have better micro.


For orcs, the only tweaks . You could make skeletons faster and maybe a little stronger, so you dk an exp with farmed in dks, if the guys not paying attention skeletons could take out every farmed in dk real quick . That way it becomes a useful strategic spell instead of just something people use to clown people once they've taken the map.  You could make runes 150 mana, since most ogers seem to die before they hit 200, u usually have to lust them constantly in a balanced game. This could also serve an effective counter to invisible mages in certain paths since we are making humans stronger. Another idea is Berserker regeneration, perhaps this spell could give Dragons regeneration!!! Healing are able to heal gryphons so this would allow for you to strike then hide your dragon until Puff has managed to recover!!!

Exciting stuff gentlemen!! Lol maybe I won't retire if we can add extra dimensions like this.  You know how Diablo2 generates a unique Labyrinth each time so no level is ever the same? Imagine if there was an option to create a custom pud each time so gimmick cook book strats were less prevalent while adding a certain mystery that required unique approaches & scouting each time. Obviously there would be constraints for distances, choke points, hops, triple chop points to create your own chokes or chop ins. Random X range of oil making smith and fort protection more vital, farm in points gold size. Certain exps have X squares vulnerable to dk rank or some mines with in cat reach, scarcity... Basically look at the top 25 Maps and identify what elements make them so lovable and try to replicate those concepts at random intervals through out the map!

Allowing custom maps on ru was a mistake. Going further into the custom realm would further eliminate competition, which is what all old players want.

Changes (if any) should be very minimal and slowly introduced to the real game, but I think it's far too late for balance changes and nearly no one would be happy about them.
As for customs this would create more variability and newbies would have a lot of fun with it. Although I also wouldn't want to see more newb maps!

"allying" with war2usa means sharing links on each other's pages.  We would never change War2 on our server, as i do think it's best to maintain the original game, but there's some fun experiments another server can do!
