sounds like a lot of people who aren't porn stars -- unfulfilled, depressed, isolated, doesn't know why they're here, uses intoxicants to cope. anti-sex religious morality is a terrible thing imo.
Maybe both mass market pornography, which treats women as disposable commodities to be used and thrown away in service to men, and anti-sex religious morality, which treats women as permanent bio-assets to be used in perpetuity by men and kept in a state of submission to patriarchal authority, are bad.
sure, we could draw that distinction ; porn is just one thing that's being implemented in a suboptimal way as a result of suboptimal capitalism, just like everything else.
It's not "suboptimal capitalism," it's capitalism working as intended. If pornography producers can make more money treating women badly than treating women well (assuming for the sake of argument mass market pornography is not inherently bad for the performers), why would they treat them well? The point of capitalism is to make a profit, not be a humanitarian, and this is reflected everywhere you look in a capitalist society. It's not an accident.
