Mistral knows how to contain a large share of genius, while having an even greater share of indifference to his projects. As a result, the product cannot satisfy basic needs, namely: there is no ease of use; no normal structure; everything is done, I'm not afraid of this word, "shitty" and "through the ass", and what particularly complex triggers do - it will not become clear until Ragnarok.

Attempts to stop the release, or to reschedule the release, were unsuccessful.
This is extremely sad ... but the project could become really very powerful in its kind, and even the Best, among the programs for Warcraft2.

P.S. All of the above does not detract from Mistral's genius. Does not detract from the enormous value of his merits.
I'm just disappointed that he could at least try to make his Best Creation much more beautiful, crisp, clear.

To the best of his ability, as far as I remember, he always tried to help all players without exception: whether by creating a lobby for the game, or by giving advice on the game (and he could already play at a sufficiently high level in the first months of the game).
Ragner's activity as a player is still quite high, and most importantly, there is a desire to do some work on the server. He wants to help develop Warcraft2.
Also, I think everyone already knows that in the game he is distinguished by the incredible power of the game; sometimes, is able to pull out seemingly non-pull-out games. Over the past few years, he has undoubtedly become №1 in the Russian-speaking community. Received the title of "master" not only there, but also in the world community, took the first line in the world ladder.
Ragner treats all players evenly and benevolently. And this is the main.
A good knowledge of English makes it a very good link between the Russian-speaking and the world community of war2 players.

I played a couple games with the mods and had fun w/ the new stuff.  Is there a current list of all the changes when playing a mod game?

Also, take away the ability to change the game speed in game.  Too easy to abuse or annoy people with it.

When we bring the mod into a relatively balanced state, we will definitely write everything.

Introducing the Two-Headed Ogre Mode! (just like the Archon mode in Starcraft!)

For those who do not know what the Archon mode is, I explain: this is when 2 or more players play for one player!
Thus, it is possible to assign roles. For example: one player controls the economy and the other the army!

Regarding the color of the frames for selecting units:
Green is the player's normal frame.
Yellow - a frame that lights up when your ally has selected one or another unit
Lilac - a frame when TWO or more players have selected the same unit.

These colored frames will help you not to interfere with the actions of your allies, or vice versa, will help you direct them on the right path!

Check out this weird encounter I had recently, I don't know if it's a hack, but WTF, I lost complete control of my peon. I've seen this before once with undine- losing control of his peon. I've clipped it on twich - the peon refused to rep and just moved around randomly.

I know what is it.
It was an enemy peon that hit you and he began to aggro at him. Because your peon did not have time to strike back (because you gave him another order). This happens with combat units, in this case, you need to put them on "keep the line".
It was not a random control. It's just that the peon ran to hit his abuser :)

And now about the mod itself and why we decided to release it at all:
In fact, we can say that we are testing 2 projects:
1) war2mod
2) improvement of the original war2

The first project is supposed to be done as an additional game mode, where many of the most interesting features of the game will be implemented.
And the second - to strengthen the Alliance race, and only slightly, perhaps, to correct the orcs.

The fact is that everyone knows that there is no balance between races in Warcraft2.
Everyone is already too much used to it - you are right, of course.

Therefore, in improving Warcraft2, we especially do not want to change and somehow strongly expose the orcs to the balance.

Much more attention should be paid to the Alliance race.
They are played mainly to give an advantage to the opponent, or try to win quickly on small maps. Or just for fun.
We want to strengthen the Alliance race so that it can become proportionate in strength to the Horde race.
So that people choose not only orcs, but also people. Of course, like Starcraft, the mechanics of playing for both races should be somewhat different.

Therefore, before you blame war2mod for anything ... remember! That this is just a test of the game's capabilities.
If the community nevertheless comes to the conclusion that a rebalancing of races is necessary, then the relevance of the war2mod will become much lower.

If the community does not come to this, then war2mod will be some alternative to the original war2, and will live in the new mode, without annoying 99% of the players. In which all sorts of interesting things will be available like sheep or demons with heroes.

Anyway ... we are waiting for what people will say about all this. How much they are interested in it, and whether they are ready to support the initiative.
