Google ranking rapport for http://en.war2.ru/

I investigated a little quickly what I believe are the most relevant searches for http://en.war2.ru/ and found out the site is ranking the site ranks pretty well. This is for Google.com and USA area.

But as you could see there is some SEO to do to get the top positions.

This is 1 thing that could get us more players.

Nice, I remember reviewing most of these keywords with iL last year around the time the redesigned site was launched, and I do believe we're ranking better for them now then we were then. It's probably due in large part to Burnt's heroic promotion efforts, and I think the URL change has improved the site's general credibility as well. I'm really happy with how smoothly that transition went.

Continuing to promote the site and improve ranking is one area where the community can really pitch in and help. One person intentionally "building" links to en.war2.ru is technically considered unnatural by search engines, but a whole community of people linking to it from their various websites, social profiles, etc. etc. are exactly the indicators they look for in an authoratative website.

The other language sites need to get worked on especially the spanish site, I guarantee you will get a huge amount of new players. You can then target keywords that other language players would be looking for.

The main keyword I think is "warcraft 2 download" and we are sitting at number 3 now with en.war2.ru/downloads/ . If we can get to #1, again another huge surge of players. Also you need to give a better description in the meta tag

"War2.ru offers a free Warcraft 2 Download (below) that's just 13mb and requires no CD Key. Our server gateway is prepopulated so you all you have to do is ..."

This is what is showing up in the search engine. Not horrible, but can be improved a lot, you need to manually enter the meta tags cause it seems like it is just scraping the site.

Just off the top of my head.
Free Warcraft 2 Game Download. Compatible with Windows XP/7/8

Also change the title from "Downloads - Warcraft II"  to Warcraft 2 Downloads.

This should suffice for now, but when I get some time I will do some keyword research and may have some future suggestions. I used to be an internet marketer for 3 years before I got into online poker so I know my shit.

First column tells you how many searches there are per day for each keyword.

Based on this, our main page title should be changed from "Warcraft II - Free Online Server" to "Play Warcraft 2 Free Online" so we will target the main words here.

en.war2.ru/downloads can target warcraft 2 download so change its title to "Warcraft 2 Download"

Also we could  make a seperate page to target warcraft 2 battle.net edition,and warcraft 2 tides of darkness since these are big searches as well. They could be a description about each game and stuff. Both these combined would bring ~100 more hits per day if we got a good ranking, and definatly make a page about warcraft 2 cheats, 80 hits a day wtf? lol

Great observations, thanks for taking the time to look into it. I changed the home page title and download page title & meta; since those are the two highest ranking pages and they're already getting a lot of impressions, the change should definitely have a big impact on CTR.

Yeah, I had the same thought. Those and other keywords can easily be targeted with sub-pages, and having those more relevant pages ranking for those kws instead of the home page should also boost the CTR.

Heh, we went from 3 to 2, by changing II to 2 in the title nice. Will be interesting to see how warcraft 2 download changes after google updates the cache for the site, we are currently at #3.

Someone with a wikipedia account, make a section about war2.ru on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warcraft_II:_Tides_of_Darkness and give us a link. That is the number 1 hit for warcraft 2.
