Claw I watched your vid and his vid. His screen literally lit up. Yours were due to the drags attacking?
This is the reason I ended it all.

i have no idea, but as you can see, certain areas are litting up as well. I know its different, but if certain squares at my vid kept litting up for no reason, i am more inclined to believe his warvid might have been buggy too

Dragon breath seems sort of like a graphics rendering thing.  Like when you pause in warvid and it doesn't bother to turn the recording grey.

The key is whether warvid "downloads" puds or whatever.  When it exposed that coastline that is completely unexplored, how does it even know that coastline exists?  It would have to have gathered pud data which I didn't think it did, but I guess maybe it could.  Is there any way to figure out how warvid works?

War2 records what the user sees on the screen on a picture by picture basis essentially. This is how I am aware it is supposed to work...

That's how i thought it worked too.  in which case, yeah.

But perhaps it does some small things to save space like download the terrain at the start of the game so it only has to record unit images and overlay them onto the map.  but that brings up the fog issue and how it knows where the fog should be.  it would have to also know unit sight scores and fog behavior :/  maybe you could test this by recording a ranger before and after upgraded vision, lol prob not

But I think it's just a huge collection of screenshots/frames, a straight video program.  Set higher or lower frame rate and it stores more of them.  Hence why you get 25mb f iles.

if black terrain explored for a second = hax, then not only should we ban braviet, but also swift.

in swfits case, before the halls were finished, he strangly went a little bit up and that's when the minimap lit up (he recorded with 4-5 FPS so it was just one frame). That would go nice with my 'spothack' theory, but I'm still not convinved that it equals hax. Got any email to warvid creator? lol

Yes please do Jesk. This would help us determine if this happens with 'some' players or 'most' players ...

There is the source code for warvideo. Can't anybody figure it out here? Fuck, I don't see it on occult...

Readme of warvideo source:

Spoiler
========================================================================
       MICROSOFT FOUNDATION CLASS LIBRARY : WarVideo
========================================================================

AppWizard has created this WarVideo application for you.  This application
not only demonstrates the basics of using the Microsoft Foundation classes
but is also a starting point for writing your application.

This file contains a summary of what you will find in each of the files that
make up your WarVideo application.

WarVideo.dsp
    This file (the project file) contains information at the project level and
    is used to build a single project or subproject. Other users can share the
    project (.dsp) file, but they should export the makefiles locally.

WarVideo.h
    This is the main header file for the application.  It includes other
    project specific headers (including Resource.h) and declares the
    CWarVideoApp application class.

WarVideo.cpp
    This is the main application source file that contains the application
    class CWarVideoApp.

WarVideo.rc
    This is a listing of all of the Microsoft Windows resources that the
    program uses.  It includes the icons, bitmaps, and cursors that are stored
    in the RES subdirectory.  This file can be directly edited in Microsoft
   Visual C++.

WarVideo.clw
    This file contains information used by ClassWizard to edit existing
    classes or add new classes.  ClassWizard also uses this file to store
    information needed to create and edit message maps and dialog data
    maps and to create prototype member functions.

res\WarVideo.ico
    This is an icon file, which is used as the application's icon.  This
    icon is included by the main resource file WarVideo.rc.

res\WarVideo.rc2
    This file contains resources that are not edited by Microsoft
   Visual C++.  You should place all resources not editable by
   the resource editor in this file.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

AppWizard creates one dialog class:

WarVideoDlg.h, WarVideoDlg.cpp - the dialog
    These files contain your CWarVideoDlg class.  This class defines
    the behavior of your application's main dialog.  The dialog's
    template is in WarVideo.rc, which can be edited in Microsoft
   Visual C++.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Other standard files:

StdAfx.h, StdAfx.cpp
    These files are used to build a precompiled header (PCH) file
    named WarVideo.pch and a precompiled types file named StdAfx.obj.

Resource.h
    This is the standard header file, which defines new resource IDs.
    Microsoft Visual C++ reads and updates this file.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Other notes:

AppWizard uses "TODO:" to indicate parts of the source code you
should add to or customize.

If your application uses MFC in a shared DLL, and your application is
in a language other than the operating system's current language, you
will need to copy the corresponding localized resources MFC42XXX.DLL
from the Microsoft Visual C++ CD-ROM onto the system or system32 directory,
and rename it to be MFCLOC.DLL.  ("XXX" stands for the language abbreviation.
For example, MFC42DEU.DLL contains resources translated to German.)  If you
don't do this, some of the UI elements of your application will remain in the
language of the operating system.

Jesks warvid. I'm afraid warvid is buggy and swift & braviet are legit as far as we know.
