Recording war2 live with hypercam 2 - newbie guide

1. Download hypercam 2:
http://www.hyperionics.com/hc2/downloads.asp
install & start it

2. SCREEN AREA:
start X: 0
start Y: 0

width: 640
height: 480

Leave hypercam Window opened




3. Hotkeys
You can customize them, but you only need F2 to start/stop recording basically. F3 to pause.

4. Avi file
You can set FPS here, 30 is OK, less if your PC slow
Video Compressor: Auto Select is OK. Feel free to play with it if you're experienced/bored/worried about the AVI file size

5. Sound
You can record the sound and choose the source of it (stereo if you want game soundz, mic if talking)


Now the important stuff: start the hypercam 2. if you want to record w2, you have to WAIT FOR THE GAME TO START. as soon as its started (you see your peon and grass n shit), press F2 to start recording. If you start it before the game start, the screen will be black n messed up.

If you simply want to record warvideo, choose the "select region" and select the warvideo area. There will be no sound, so either do a commentary or play sum music!

I did mark it, but no sound (just have 1 option "default sound recor.......).

When puting the mic on, icould choose that device and it record from the mic.

and don't forget to put http://en.war2.ru in your video description uploads!

Maybe there should be a free intro to download that everyone who want could use before their uploaded video on YouTube? Like the intro you use for your videos?

This tutotial DOES work for me, but it is worse quality than war2video

I dont like that you have to start the video after the game starts, alot of times i like starting the video in chat to capture the shit talking.

Also, when the game finishes, the victory screen colors are messed up

Any better recorders without these problems or settings tweaks to Hyper to make it work better???

Another (minor) issue with hypercam is for some reason when u click your own unit or ally unit, it should have a green square around it, however hypercam sometimes shows red.
