Might be that way for a while.  I still havent been able to get in lol.  I bet these clowns tried to put ALL the remastered games on the same server clusters and just got smashed with login attempts for War3 lol.

Oh,  I figured out the issue.  There was a pending update already,  and my other updates were getting done before the war2 one.   The original GoW is missing :/  They only have the BNE version in the DL.

i'm a bit confused , i thought blizzard announced that there will be a war2 remaster.
Reading this, is the warcraft remaster already finished and ready for download?

Are we all going to download it now?
I mean, the last thing we want is for the small community to be split up again.
Some play on the .ru server and the others on the new remaster.

Or am I completely wrong?

Well here's what it has and doesnt have:

It's not a remaster of battle.net,  it's a remaster of the original DOS version.

Has no:
Chat lobby
No GoW (odd since it's a remake of the original)
No ally chat
No vis/unvis of opps or allies
No TvB
No Host controls (host cant set the teams)
No OBS mode (But neither original DOS nor BNET had those either)
No saving of games

Has:
Great graphics revamps
Greater unit selection counts
Original sounds
Ally vision
Fastest speed from BNE (Odd since original DOS didnt have that)


So basically no one know's who's which color (similar to the original where there was no allied vision).  Kinda cool I guess,  so you wont know which color is going to be good, etc unless you can decipher who is who based on just builds alone.  Overall,  I think they messed up by not remastering Battle.net version and actually made the old version WORSE than the original.  The game play itself was identical,  but the scrolling was very slow and hard to manage.

I was able to play 1 game with u8 and 6 others,  after we wrecked the noobs,  the server went completely silent lol.  I put the original GoW map file in the maps dir,  it showed up, but IDK if it allows DL'ing of the map yet.  It appears the server broke as I cant host games to know if the GoW worked or not.

Yeah Lance just about summed it up.
I also played a quick game with u8 , Zela and a few others but it was tough cause we are all spoiled by all the cool features the war2 Dev team has come up with minus the graphics.

Lance pretty much nailed it.... I honestly don't like it. I see everyone continuing to play on ru. What a dissappointment.

Looks great but the functionality is not there.. This will require patches.. I've sent my list to the devs let me know if you have any others:

1) No chat channels/lobby
2) Multiplayer maps aren't working/not available
--workaround by pasting maps in every folder seems to work
3) Settings are not saved when launching maps
4) No countdown to launch  - 5 4 3 2 1 (even bnet had this)
5) Can't set observers in game or lobbies
6) No ally/vision panel in game
7) Mouse slowness/weirdness
Right clicks in fog don't display X
9) No map preview in multiplayer
10) Users without maps don't download maps automatically
11) UI menu sliders don't work well, takes multiple clicks to move
12) Game speeds are not shown by their names - Fastest, Even Faster, Faster etc
13)No ability to put passwords on multiplayer lobbbies (this has been a thing for 25 years)
14) Host can't set teams
15) Host can't set observers
16) No Lag popup in multiplayer - game just freezes and players drop

There is no Screenshot capabilities that I've found either.  I've tried to take SS's,  but no SS dir shows up.  However, it does copy to clipboard, but thats useless.

I think there's a bug with people who enter and dont have the map (IE:  Original GoW).  It lets them enter, then immediately kicks them out.  It causes the game slots to F up and become stuck.

Anyone knows how to download classic gow to remastered? I saw some players playing it but couldn't figure out how to get it downloaded

Cool and all guys but what about single player? The game is both MP and SP you know...did they remaster the CGI cutscenes? Did they change anything in maps?
