maybe should just try to alt tab less.

Try CPU Savior as suggested by iL, I've had this problem too and especially after switching tabs.

Windows 7 x64

Looks like the problem causes for both x64 and x86 arch.

Win7 ult
Intel i7
Nvidia

Does anyone have the same problem with ATI video card?
