i usually use Hide.me
im trying to use a different vpn

hide.me works fine now with the updated tool, just tested it! The old tool i posted first gave me the same error message you had as well.

What happens now with hide.me and the new tool? Error? Or Symmetric? Show a screenshot please with hide.me active

yes, that looks good! You can play now without issues (but make sure you got the hole punch patch installed!)

Does it work without HD patch? If that's the case then it's probably just a firewall issue. HD patch is using a different .exe, so that means you'll need to allow it in your firewall again


Also, make sure you never run the test tool and the game at the same time, both use the same port and are interfering with each other.

About the test we did in-game:

I can see that you're connected through hide.me (netherlands server), so that part is working fine. However your connection is still "Symmetric" and that's why it doesn't work.


Now I'm wondering, did you always had to use hide.me? It looks to me like there's a problem with their setup, they may have done some changes that is causing the conflicts now. Maybe we'll have to try a few other VPN's and find one that doesn't have the "Symmetric" Net Type.

I updated the tool again (added some more logging in case of "Symmetric" Net Type)

I'm also getting "Symmetric" now with hide.me enabled. So it's confirmed, hide.me VPN can't be used with War2 anymore.

UdpBlocked = All connections were blocked, the test failed (Usually happens if blocked by firewall or your ISP/VPN blocked the test port)

Symmetric = Worst possible test result, will cause a lot of conflicts/lag (You can only play with those that forwarded the port, so mostly 2 player games only)

Nice, so you're using ExpressVPN now?


BTW, we just tested it with some guys on discord and hide.me works if you got the premium plan, but it does not work if you got the unlimited free plan anymore. So if you want to keep using hide.me, you'll have to pay for it now.

Hello, Im new here and trying to get this game working. I need help with lag issues. I ran the software Fois gave here earlier and I get symmetric even I just installed expressVPN and I have new version of the game. My internet sucks overal (15-30mbps) but is it enough for war2 and does it affect on the text that Fois test gives?
