Spent about 2 hrs yesterday for this project:

Here is a 7z archive to download, unpack and play.

All the game resources included, no need to select some kind of disk, archive, converting, etc.
Just run stratagus.exe from wargus folder to play.
You can also try stratagus_lastest.exe (my build based on all lastest commits. 2019 Oct 18 is last update).

Here is how wargus/stratagus look like in 2018/2019.
I can also update wargus scripts in the archive, wargus team made many improvements in 2019 also.
I hope coming soon...

I hope stratagus will get a place if wargus team will finish something playable.
There's an active team who continue to work on it. That's why i build the lastest release and shared it here.

Just need some feedback from people who know war2 and like it, to make wargus better.

I don't see any reasons to waste the time for such research .
Also another problem was very quick scroll in DOS war2...

Also about wargus:
I talked to wargus team about this build:
they don't want this to called "Wargus".

Wargus is absolutely legal tool to extract resources from war2 + scripts for it.
Stratagus is absolutely legal opensource engine for different games.
Neighter wargus nor stratagus include any kind of proprietary resources.

So, here's my new build:
notWar2.
This game is not a War2. This is a game looks like war2, based on wargus+stratagus engines.
Lastest versions, night build. All the exising updates included. All the binary resources extracted from Blizzard Warcraft II.

thats the reason for freecraft only tie they got to blizzard is the sprites english voice acting..which the game ought to be remade in the wyrmsun universe your tottally away from blizzard
