back to the main topic.. what is the likelihood we can talk with staff members there and have some updates and fixes implemented up to and including hosting

Bottom line is

1. If GOG is successful (I'll give them 6 months) war2usa.com will be closing.

2. I'm sure il and me will receive letters to shutdown before legal action against us.

3. Delete that link it's illegal to host or post and against rules. No torrents or serials. Why pirate and make gog lose money when they are tied with blizzard and trying to revive old games that's just childish!

4. You need to open ports regardless just to join or host!

5. The ddraw for bnet is broken and the new hacked ddraws break the checksum and won't work on official servers. Let's hope they update bnet soon.

6. We need to come up with a channel for our old community or we will be thrown in channel randomly based or numbers and countries.

I hadnt problem with that since i started played w2, they release w2 and i got problems with it

It sounds like our pirated version of Warcraft 2 is conflicting with pirated version of Battlenet is conflicting with their version of battle.net no?

Nope maybe the gateway issues are conflicting I'm working on that now. I was able to connect to server.war2.ru and war2usa with gog war2. I broke the syntax at the moment and only server.war2.ru shows up LOL!

Seems they had our ideas in mind they use ipxwrapper also.

No upnp support so now you cant play at all if you dont port forward.

So what’s the consensus? Is it any good is it playable what? I think I’m going to start hosting games there for a couple hours a night.

Sounds like it sucks so far.  Potentially unstable server disconnecting users, no upnp so hosting there is worse than on ru. ddraw is worse as well, and they're unlikely to ever have any anti-hack/other utilities.  Not sure if they'll do anything at all in the way of moderation?

Best case seems to be our client can be upgraded to be compatible to the gog server, which would give us more people to play with, if there's going to be people buying War2 from them... but since I never had heard of gog before this, not sure what kind of influx of users we should expect.

It's quite possible to use War2PLoader with 2.0.2.1.
For uPNP and noCD.
It will not fix any bugs with warlat, zwarlat and so on.
Antihack should not work too. I think so.

Just checked: at least it doesn't crash war2. Should work. I have no uPNP on my router o check, but should work.

well gog is u buy the game u keep,you dont need the server like say steam and at a 90% market share blizzard maybe trying to make a competition to steam.

u could make a client side anti..both users have the program on they cant hack..and if it doesnt match = drop

UPDATE: use gog war2 with your favorite server.

You place this in your gog war2 folder for me it is.
C:\program files (x86)\gog galaxy\games\warcraft ii bne\

Attached is the new .cmd file you can right click and compare the differences if you want. I've added server.war2.ru, gog, war2usa. Only bug I have ran into is if you exit battle.net to the server menu the original gateways are there but works for now.

HOSTED A FEW GAMES for the first time since 2014, when I had white static IP for free.

Saw only 1 drop when Swift joined, no lags at all.

I paid it.. it was more a "LOOK AT WHAT I EXPECT!" type post. I am extremely surprised they released this without figuring this stuff out. How do you sell a "damaged" product to someone?
