I just tried to build wargus/stratagus last month: it became much better than 5-7 years ago, no more crashes (at least i didn't get), but it's not quite stable.

Wargus is still a very strange thing: you start with strange set of maps. Yes, you can find classic maps, but you have to search them.
Also, the program just leaves sometimes when you finish the game...

I think i'll release something like last playable wargus/stratagus to install as next-next-next-finish and then just play.

I think we can say goodbye to that idea, now that Blizzard have join forces with GOG. War2 is like a classic and aparently will never have an HD version o rerelease like War3

many games havent got HD version and when games joined to GOG they release it, like stronghold, maybe they will do, ofc they wont make it like sc:r but maybe we will havent got "black bars"

they are some ddraws for diablo which will work with war2..u can change reso stretch to 800x600 up...but the performance is terrible for this computer.

t the ddraw in war2 folder with .exe mpq etc...start war2,hit ~ in the game to bring up menu.

Did that but the game didn't start at all, i received a message saying the ddraw was not ok or was missing (tried using Windows 10). I think we should work around with the new Diablo (GOG) ddraw, maybe it's already corrected

EDIT: the Diablo (GOG) ddraw worked with War2Combat!! You even can configure the resolution with a little tool included in the Diablo folder.

All i did was copy from the folder \Diablo\dx the following files:

ddraw.dll
dxcfg.exe
dxcfg.ini

With dxcfg.exe you can change resolution and other things, War2 work with no lag, is cool!!!

This is worth looking into. Does anyone have access to the stratagus mod that was made with dwarves? I saw it was 3 races, found that kind of fascinating.

Interesting, the first video  is definitely an older version of the wyrmsun engine.
