Its been brought to my attention that Tupac has been dos'ing things in some sort of effort to push a server he has been making. Is there truth to this. Do I need to intervene to straighten this out or whats up with the status page and AH not functioning properly due to server not responding. I dont keep up on the forum goings on but I do play every once in a great while and its been mentioned a few times in some games that he's been misbehaving along with Babyshark? This doesnt seem to fit the behavior pattern/personality I've seen with Babyshark in the past.
There is no actual proof tubac is doxing the server.
However one day after pming dozens of users to "come play on the new American server," we get doxed hard.
So in that sense it does look very suspicious.
well it was a bot attack to start, then iL disabled account creation but the server still seemed to be having problems, so maybe the attacker began to ddos? not sure, the status page & some other features went down several days ago but the server itself was still running & usable. the website has also been getting what looks like a wimpy ddos since friday afternoon (that's what's causing the 508 errors on forum).
i think what's going to have to end up happening here is some kind of combined effort to upgrade the war2ru server & shore up its defenses + delegate more access to running/maintaining it since iL just doesn't seem to have the time anymore (not sure if anyone ever notified him that the status page etc went down though)
also @tora, ddos = attack on the server, doxx = exposing someone's personal info
