I can't remember everything, i also can't know everything.
I try to fix some problems, but i need to know about a problem at least to fix it!

If you have a problem, don't post that to any random topic. Please, describe the problem and post it to the "support requests" section. 1 problem - 1 topic.
Also make proper names for topics to describe your problem.

Screenshots or photos are welcomed a lot.
As an example: somebody posted anything about white screen in chat, but he didn't even describe what he have.
Now i got another request with photo, i planned to add this to that topic but was not able to find it. All  remember - is was someone with small amount of posts, he posted that in some topic with senseless name in some random section...

I never use win7 with war2, so i don't even remember about that problem. Nobody told me about that for a long time.

Please, check the existing topics in support request before create your own, then if not exist, create it with proper description and pictures.

Yes.  It says game does not exist even if it exists.  So it's not working

i recently got windows 8 and while it is possible to play war2, there are all types of bugs with it as far as fonts/icons/general server layout is concerned.

i feel like future versions are going to make older style games (war2) more and more incompatible.

I just installed win8.1 and win10 (x64) and tried war2 there. All the settings by default.
I didn't use any ddraw wrappers under win8/10 (default for combat 4.1).
Everything works fine for me except chat icons and printscreen in chat:

- Palette is ok in menus, in game, in chat, alt-tab doesn't break it. No problem to be resolved by win7 colorfix.
- SS in game is ok
- Problem is letters above buttons in bnet chat have black background.

Tk, do you have photo camera? Can you post photo of each trouble you have with war2 under win8? And also describe your windows exact version and configuration. And you video card and driver also.
Also make sure there's no ddraw.dll file in your war2 directory.

Yes I tried every thing for each windows 8.1 and 10 beta Without ddhack..... and with.... pretty much same results. But I set my monitor to the lowest requirements and it seems okay but bnet was still messed up.... I even tried war 2 in Window mode which seems to fix starcraft....


Edit: I wonder if i mess with the fonts......
