There have been multiple leaders of Socialist governments with communist political ideology. China, Russia, Cuba, Vietnam, etc are just a few examples of countries that embraced socialism in the 20th century with the goal of becoming communist. Now in the 21st century these same countries are straying from socalism and communist ideology and becoming increasingly capitalist.
Why is it that communism never materialized in any of the socialist countries of the 20th century?

It is hard to progress to pure communism from socialism when there is a capitalist power in the world that would like to destroy you.  But i would much prefer a state-owned planned economy, run by a dictatorship of the proletariat, over this exploitative capitalist hellhole that enforces misery and poverty on so many people, so socialism is fine with me

Everyone has the right to freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. However not everyone will attain the same level of success due to pre existing conditions. That doesn’t mean someone with less social standing is less happy than someone with high social standing.
