It's funny how Polish people get all weepy at the idea that any Pole could have done anything bad.  America is full of eager Nazis and wages evil and imperialist wars.  I have no problem saying that.  But Poles are so sensitive to having any of their Nazi collaboration called out that they try to make it against the law, lol.  Any nation will have collaborators.  There were Jewish collaborators even.  It will happen anywhere, and it happened in Poland.  But they want to throw you in jail for three years for saying so

The bill, which passed the lower house of Poland's parliament on Friday, has yet to be approved by the Senate, the upper house, and signed into law by the president.

Article 55a, clause 1, of the draft law states that “whoever accuses, publicly and against the facts, the Polish nation, or the Polish state, of being responsible or complicit in the Nazi crimes committed by the Third German Reich … or other crimes against peace and humanity, or war crimes, or otherwise grossly diminishes the actual perpetrators thereof, shall be subject to a fine or a penalty of imprisonment of up to three years.”

Clause 2 of the law says that those who “act unintentionally” would also be liable to punishment.

Clause 3 reads that “the perpetrator of the offence referred to in clauses 1 and 2 is not committing a crime if he or she commits such an act as part of artistic or scientific activities.”

In science news the University of Pooland has just annouced a new scientific study whereby nationalist MPs will have swastikas tattooed on their forheads in order to study the rate the ink fades.

...and finally tonight we have a sneak preview of the latest artwork to be displayed at the National Gallery of Pooland as part of the Stan Odmowy collection. Mr. Odmowy was quick to point out that he "absolutely acted intentionally".
