You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see that religion is stupid and causes so many problems.
religion is just one illness in society.
religion is just another way to divide and conquer the people so that they are so busy fighting with each other, they don't notice the real problems such as the corrupt bankers, corporations, and politicians robbing everybody blind.

If you look at the size of the government compared to the gdp, you can see this - and btw, before you check the size of the gov, first make sure you know how to check the size of the gov.
And yes, it has been scientifically established that religiousness makes people more stupid.
