Tired of waiting and missing games

So, everyone knows, when there is a game of say, GOW going, you pretty much have to sit and wait for the game to get out to be able to play, 80% of the time.

It is very boring to sit and stare at the chat, so then I wind up tabbing and the second I tab and go back, I've missed the game and have to wait another 15 minutes. This is rather annoying and makes me walk away from playing often.

Programmers out there, is there any chance that something could be created to make a simple chime or noise indicating when a specific game or games are over? This would be most advantageous if it worked in windows so that when you tab, you can hear when a game is out even when War2 is minimized.

Just an idea.

man i remember there being a war2 install that made noises when certain people did stuff even before .ru came out but im not sure what happened with it

there is no reason this game should be this dead. idgaf if it's 20 years old. it's a good game. people like playing good games, regardless of age... and it's FREE.

the people who seem to be currently doing the most for the server aren't even the ones "in charge" of the server (mouse, ritalin)  .. not sure who else is doing what but i definitely see them going out of their way to do what they can.

Stealth would be a much simpler solution than second WM.

Yes stealthbot can join the server (that's what gamebot uses e.g.) and yes, like tupac pointed out this exact thing was already created by war_master (http://forum.war2.ru/index.php/topic,65.0.html)

Unfortunately that app no longer seems to work? I couldn't get it to do anything the last few times I tried, and I don't think war_mast3r ever shared the source so it could be updated. But the premise seems dead simple, anyone who knows programming could create the same kind of thing in any language I think. If one of our community programmers can't do it maybe we could find someone on Fiverr or w/e and crowdfund it.

I use stealthbot too. Just know that you need to create a separate account as if you use the same login, the server will disconnect the other account. Pretty annoying And the fact that SB can be left in the background/resized makes it easy...

Mousey would you like a copy of the vapor chat bot i have edited its programmed in vb6. You can edit the messages it receives when whispered for example you get a msg from server when your friends join a game.

well you can use that variable already in the code and make a code like to this

sendchat("/f m " + FRIENDMSG)

so anyone one that is on that bots flist would get msg about game just from the bot with out having that person on the flist. Could do all of this easily even add a sound on the bots end for you. Make a few commands .faddme <--- this would obviously make it so your games are displayed and make you receive msgs other people who host.


When i went this route it works but when you guys added the forums data i the pvpgn msg its flood my bot out. Also maybe you find a way to ignore the first 20?

What do you mean. Everything is how the game is designed. So new things for this game is a blessing right? Also if there where better people to do all the staffs hard work why haven't they taken over yet?

Sure tupac, I wouldn't mind messing with it. Idk anything about vb really but I can try! I hope the php integration iL & Lance were working on eventually pans out, could probably do lots of cool stuff with it and that's the one language I actually do know.

Lets try to keep this thread on topic and not trashed. I think this part of the forums should be heavy moderated. We all have done it maybe we should stop. Anyone ever notice how it messes up the search engine when you look for stuff..?
