im wondering why a game takes around 20mins to show up on the ladder.
Cant we fix it, that a won/lost game shows up immeditaly after the game finished?!

Its hard to check if the games are counting for not.

The update script automatically runs every 20 minutes or so.  You can tell if the game will count by looking at the game report and seeing if it's borked or nto.

Or what advanatge do you have when u wait 20 minutes... Im just asking because i dont see anything good at it.

1) u cant make count asap - its ok.... but bad!
2) u could do it, but u dont want to - why?

The ladder doesn't/can't count each game as it is played, because the reports aren't sent to it - I am not sure how they could be but it would require editing how the server handles games and game reports.  Not being able to do that when I coded the ladder, I used only the publicly available information, from here: http://ladder.war2.ru/oldgames.php

So, the ladder updates by scanning the game reports log for new reports every X often.  Right now 20 minutes.  I think we had it more frequently at one time, but if a previous scan is still running when the new scan starts, that can cause problems.  Anyway, the more often it runs the more taxing I think it is on the server

I can't keep up with these new guys anymore. Played swag today and barely got by him. I was doing well and then he just swamped me in the last 4 games. One game I was 4 vs him at 2 and he just wrecked me about as hard as I've ever been. I don't know if the series outcome has to with how good they are or how much I suck, but I should probably quit this game while I'm ahead haha because it gets worse for me every year now.
