Prize money for the #1 ladder spot (Updated)

Hey guys I have decided to start giving away prize money for the #1 ladder starting April 1st.


I will be allocating a $100 prize pool each month for players who wish to compete for the #1 ladder.
From now on whenever a player reaches the #1 slot they will have the opportunity to 1s the #2 slot in a Bo5 for a prize of $25.
Players who win $25 will will have to wait a 7 day period before competing for another $25 prize.
Once the $100 prize pool has been drained all players will need to wait until the 1st of the next month before competing for more cash prizes.

And finally whenever a player is defending their #1 ladder position for prize money they must warvid or stream their Bo5 series. Once I receive the warvids or stream I will send them $25 via paypal.

Well how do we decide who are the top "10ers"

I agree here. It would be easy to avoid playing the people who can take the title away if based on days held.

Everyone at the top do seem to be the top tier players though. So I don't really see how this will be a problem. Unless a player refuses to 1s anyone after getting to the top

Right now Brav is #1. Jesk is #2... If braviet plays jesk BO3 and maintains #1 spot then award prize

Nice idea though.  The defenses should be against #2 ranked players, official defenses, before any money gets involved.  and obviously wouldn't apply if you lost on purpose a bunch to get someone into rank #2

yeah swift and blid have it right tora. also i know i'll be in #2 to contend if not #1, so u have to make it so they can't dodge me because they do fear.

Ok so if someone reaches the #1 on the ladder and they defend it in a bo3 against the #2 they receive $25. I'll have to draw up the new rules.

Gotta be careful there too, what if everyone gets real active and the #1 spot gets defended like 10 times a week?

But I do see ur point I am thinking I will limit it to $100 a month and maybe lower the payout from $25 to $20.

Pretty sure the ladder has the defense system already built into it.  IDK if it tracks those or not,  but I remember when built the ladder that blid based his from, it did have a total number of defenses listed and it reset whenever you lost.  It's a simple add if it's not there already since it already counts 3 game as a series anyway.  Could be an interesting idea but it could also get expensive if #1 gets passed around a lot

would be also nice if we did the same with 2v2 competiton. I remember that we had 2v2 ladder also.
