Which version of GOW should I practice more on?

Newbie here.

Just wanted to ask what map is the most played hence I should practice more on, Classic Gow or Gow BNE?

Neither.  Practice on nwtr, foc, hsc, 3v3, funfor3, pos, xmarks, friends, basically anything that is built in, thats what you should use for learning.  Learning 1 map will not help at all no matter how much it is played over others.

lance sucks. It doesn't matter what maps you practice on, as long as you're not playing custom maps. However if you want to learn garden of war, you should play garden of war classic. Watching games and live streams will give you a good foundation. There are key ways to improve on war2. Playing better players consistently, remedying why you lost, and finding a mentor are all essential to learning. Keep in mind that this game is 20 years old, and if you want to compete against 20 year old veterans, you're going to need a mentor if you want to take it seriously. War2 is simply too complex to just pick up and run with at a competitive level.

As expected,  Yamon regurgitated what I just said (play many different maps), then fucked it up by insinuating that Gow BNE and Classic Gow are similar or the same and that practicing 1 version over the other would help with the other.  That couldnt be further from the truth.  They are absolutely NOT the same and not even remotely played the same.  They are 2 DIFFERENT maps completely and played just as differently.  It seems the OP realizes this but Yamon here,  who claims to be such a great player,  failed to see this fact that even a noob could see.  That is why he asked,  he notices a difference and likely wondering which is better to learn from or played the most.  They are played about the same amount of times,  but the way in which they are played is worlds apart.  Any real player would know this.  Yamon does not qualify as a real player in any arena.  In fact,  just ignore anything he says since it originates from his Jupiter sized ego.

The fact of the matter is that non-customs players end up playing Garden of War.pud (the original) about 95% of the time.  We can talk about other classic maps all we want, but that's the truth, and if this guy wants to learn GOW, he should play and watch GOW.

Blid is right though because he does not lump Gow BNE and Gow Classic in together.  They are not the same.  When someone says "Gow",  they generally do not mean Gow BNE.  It usually references the classic Gow map.  Yamon incorrectly lumps them together   Gow BNE is not a classic map.  It's a battle.net edition map (get it?  B.  N.  E.  {B}attle.{Net}.{Edition}) , which in my book is not classic

It could be possible, but I read it that he lumped the two together and then said play Gow classic insinuating that it would help in both, which it would not.  Idk about the 95% thing though,  thats a bit extreme   Of course,  in my case it wouldnt be because it's actually 99.9999% hehe.  The last time I played BNE was actually on the EF speed and it was probably several months ago if not longer.  I dont really like it to be honest.  I like the non-bne gow that has 6/8/11/4 fixed, but leaves all the other spots and doesnt remove any non-buildable road paths.  I think its called Gow fixed or gow tourney, something like that, didnt you make that map? lol.  That one isnt to bad when compared to the classic gow map.  Its good for low which is really my preferred resource and probably wouldnt be a bad learning map either to learn gow as well as war2 mechanics such as being as close to the mine as possible, placing mills close to woodies, etc.  Probably not such a great map for finding a game though.  IDK how many people would join it if it were hosted :/  To bad really, its a nice map, especially on low.

Ok let me clarify, what would the map used in a competitive level the most? Would it be GoW classic or BNE?

I would like to learn to play the game on the map that is used in tournaments the most.

I was lucky someone helped me out a few days ago and he let me observe his build by demonstrating and tutoring me on the build order, and buidling placement. Also how to wall, how to expand, and how to defend the expansion. And also, how to attack with death knights using DnD and Whirlwind. I really appreciate what he did and I guess I would like to seek more mentors like him.

If ur human ef speed is more to your advantage ....but it basically boils down to playing with the group of people that likes what u like ...there's sea maps also gl hf!

Even faster Garden of war is the most commonly played setting.

Also whirlwind is only a spell you lose if you're trying to rub your opponent's face in their loss.  It's just not as good as death and decay so there's no other reason to use it.
