I think some contracts are essentially gambles.  The one DeRozan got for example was insane, Ross's contract is crazy, but then again, people said Mike Conley's contract was bonkers when he got it, and then he grew into it.  You're betting on certain guys really when you give them these deals.  If they suck you lose big haha.
