The Machinist is a pretty good movie where Bale almost kills himself trying to get skinny as possible.

Dredd is a really underrated modern sci-fi action thing. It has some stupid shit like the music at times but surprisingly smart and well thought out and really good production design. Shame it didn't do better at the box office, looked pretty expensive to make.

edit: oh wow only a $45m budget, that must be why almost the whole movie takes place in the Kowloon Walled City-like
