Restrictions?
« on: June 17, 2015, 12:15:45 PM »
Okay can we add somethings?

1. Tags we can use like a spoiler but only people who replied to the thread can view it.

2. People can only view forums with an account.

3. You need so many posts to even view a category or sub forum.

We'll let's hear you all cry about my ideas haha ;)

Development should be hidden or so many posts to view. I will not be helping anyone unless they meet my requirements.

After the situation we had with USA~Archer, I am pretty sure changes are coming...i wouldn't stop development thought...

Yes I will do research on people before I assist them especially with certain information.

Nobody should be able to access any code we use....

What do you think makes sql or shell command possible? CODE!

If the attacker knows our code he can exploit it easier....

Sure if anyone was really bent on attacking us...I'd imagine that they would just source out to the Internet for information.

Not even that people like archer use newb tools. Will own your database in like 4 minutes.

Open sql map
Enter the vulnerable url
enter 5 commands to choose db, colums, dump, etc.

If we close some sections from guests, search engines will not be able to index them. I like an idea to let the forum be visible by some modding requests related to war2.

Also i don't publish any information that could be useful for hacking purposes, no names or links to hacks and cheats, no restricted information. Let me know if i missed something.

If i need to share some kind of real code to anybody, i use PM or email.

Ladder php code is buggy and vulnerable, i never doubt that since i looked at it for the 1-st time. Same as old runcms engine. That is not a reason to never use it. That is just a reason to keep it inside the sandbox, with no access to any other data. Unfortunately i didn't provide for that code on the same hosting with pvpgn server containing real passwords.
I got that now, i hope mousey too. I think such situation will not repeat in the near future.

So no, i had no plans to restrict any sections from guests.
I had an idea to create special hidden development subsection for questions related to hacking, but do we really need that? Who else except me and tupac needs that?

Let me know if you think some information could be dangerous for our things security.
Need help to translate War2Combat to German, French, Italian, Polish or another language: http://forum.war2.ru/index.php/topic,4728.0.html
Please, contact me if you are interested in that.

yeah, i actually believe tupac exchanged all the important info with archer via PM :P cant blame a forum section (and lack of restrictions) for that!

Okay it's just stuff I seen on other forums to prevent leeching. I really want a spoiler to hide unless requirements are met. For example stuff i posted in a thread.

Let's say they switched the hex values around for a farm to a mage tower... that is a working online build hack... now with that information I posted what else can it be used for? You can watch that address and if under a minute of game starting it sees it change to mage tower, now they have a beta anti hack instead of a hack. I feel we should not limit the information we supply we should limit the people who can access it.

You have a point there iL, like I have mentioned in a previous thread to Equinox that server security is everybody's responsibility on this server.

Hmm...nope.

Tupac was a victim in all of this, I would say.

Only thing I showed archer was to multi load correctly. He still didn't catch on he is running multiple exe instead of one lol.... next day I wake up we have been hacked..... I though he sql through the game name or map name. He didn't so not my fault at all.
