Narration during mission briefing/Slow down the text scroll?

I have the DOS version of Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness. Before each mission, the mission description is read aloud, and the text scrolls slowly enough to be read. Now, the Battle.NET version of WC2 available here runs much better than my old DOS version in every way, except for the fact that the mission briefings ZOOM by! I can't even read them, they go by too fast! And, of course, there's no narration.

Is there any sort of mod/fix for this? Any way to slow the text scroll and add the narration back in?

someone could probably make a patch for ru version to add back in the single player? never tried.

u can get war2bne the original..but i would use dos for single player use.
otherwise u'd would have to get the .wav and put it back in the mpq.

why is it scrolling fast i have no idea.

So you are asking for slow scrolling when the credits are playing? Maybe you just want to play the Original war2 and it would be normal right?

The main issue with the DOS version is screen tearing. Very annoying! Horizontal lines all over the place. DosBox doesn't have a vsync feature, I don't know why there isn't more of a demand for one. Also, the music in the DOS version is all lower quality midi. The "nostalgic" Warcraft 2 Battle.NET Edition available here has the high quality music and no screen tearing. But alas, the pre-mission narration is missing, and the mission descriptions scroll too fast to read. I just want to be able to experience the story while I play . I'd go out and find an original Warcraft II Battle.NET Edition CD, but I'm not even sure that would fix the problem.

Hm, why you use DOS version? Any advantages?

Well, scrolling briefings works fine in BNE (trouble in combat is realted to absent soundtracks for briefings).

You also can download full ISO-image for BNE, get install.exe from it and copy it into combat directory. That will give you music, briefings and videos.

dos advantage is it is probably the best engine for tc's/mods.
they are other svn builds of dosbox that may help the screen tearing.

i used the 2xsai scaler in the [render] section in dosbox option notepad file.
full screen it doesn't give the horzonal lines in the fog of war.(on my stuff)

take it back all the lines in my video is from my vidcard its faulty!
