Randomly Lag
« on: September 07, 2024, 12:10:34 PM »
Not sure why but I've been lagging lately. I did the whole reset router and whatnot basics. When I remove my VPN, it seems to be fine. VPN is set at the same location it's always been. I changed it to different ones as well and it still lags. I THINK sometimes it doesn't lag sometimes with the VPN but most often does lately. Any ideas as to why?

Try changing your game port to a lesser trafficked port.

If you want a more detailed answer PM me your net settings (close browser, file sharing, torrents etc first).

How would that affect the VPN creating the issue?

Why do you use a VPN?

Multiple reasons. I guess instead of stating them to the world, I would ask, why do you ask?

Note to Harry(and others): If you downloaded the optimizer delete it and run the updated script in this post.

"Jumbo Packets" should be set to 1514(disabled), not 0(unlimited) as they do not play nicely with VPNs.

Remember to right click the file and "Run as administrator" and that some settings take a full restart to take effect.

Lag be gone :innocent:
