Smurf tourneys are stupid. I'd rather have the ability to know who I'm actually up against and prepare for a particular advanced play style; then play some douche hiding under a different name, who doesn't care if he wins or loses because he will never play under that name again, nor disclose it in the case of an unlikely but possible loss.
I'll never understand how you guys can't be bored of jacking yourselves off over the "pros" in this game, rather than enjoying the wider scope of the potential of this community.
The stagnation in the ranks of "tier 1" is due to structure and design; the insular nature of your day-to-day games, and quarterly events. No other competitive community in the world suffers such stagnation as a natural course.
It's intentional, it's boring, and it is sad.
