The only arguments I've seen against remastered are
#1 - people lag, which it's a peer to peer game, that's always been a problem.
#2 - Russian players can't be bothered getting a VPN to play on it (if that's even a thing, idk) - Is it a problem buying the game? maybe we can gift it to them?
#3 - no chat rooms, well there is now with the battle net group
The only major problem I have right now is the random location bug which I'm praying will get fixed here soon. Outside of that, it's not even close as to which game is better... not even close but the much more concerning issue is the longevity and community of the game. Any chance it has is on remastered

Turtle, your efforts are truly virtuous, but I think a good plan might be to try and recruit a team so it's not all on your shoulders. Multiple times throughout the years, someone has come along to try and fix things to make it better. Most have failed or were only temporarily effective. You could ask around but maybe see who would be up for assisting you. I know Tora, Adam-W (big talk then went afk from the game), Swift/Jordan (never did anything though) Fois, Mistral, Equinox (gl with him), and a few others have done/thought of this. U8 would likely know more people. If you could ever get Burnt back, that would be epic, but I'm pretty sure he's lone gone in terms of any motivation to do so.

random spots we are waiting to fix since last year.
There is also the problem with no classic maps, nor custom maps. People cant join games if they dont have map and its annoying to do it mannualy. Lobby thing is more secondary

Part of my plan is to partner with content creators for the website - I'm going to feature streamers/other youtube channels and curate their content (strategies/etc) in a digestible interface so I funnel views to their platforms (twitch/youtube) - I'm hoping to convince some big War3 content creators to get on board. One thing I've discovered is the War3 community is thirsty for digestible learning resources because that game is complicated as fuck.
One feature I'm working on right now is a 'pud peddler' where I have over 1000 custom war2 maps searchable by map properties with image previews. What I'm discovering lately as an old/ef player that's pulled his head out of his ass is a lot of the maps in this game are bangers.
Actually one thing I've discovered is all the old maps (including old gow) are in the game, you literally just have to move them from one folder to another to play them online. And Burnt is still around i've been chatting with him on remastered - I'm not sure who or in what capacity he or the other fellas you mentioned could help outside of making noise to the developers for features, producing content but the community is doing a good job with these tournaments right now.

so this random map thing has never worked? and yeah having to manually download/move the maps into another folder is a pain in the ass but i mean, if i made an interface to easily download these maps . it'd be a little easier and i dont see how that could be a deal breaker

yeah - he's the biggest name in Warcraft RTS games and I plan on reaching out to him once my site's done first. I did watch his video and I don't think he really gives a shit about War2 but my proposal for him has only upsides for him so I think he will accept.

There was a patch where they added Random spots option. But the following patch (2-3 weeks after this one) made this option not working anymore

LOL so they fixed it then patched it again so it doesnt work? Sounds great. Also Wasnt the spots still fixed by game slots just the players spawn was random?

Remastered isn't offered in a Mac Version. It would require Vmware or a Rosetta Translation to make things run & Even then it's laggy when you add a translation layer. People have explained to you multiple times why Remastered is shit and you still don't get it.
Blizzard turned its back on the community when it shut down the old servers & has been through almost 10 different ownership groups with in that time frame.
If the war2 Ship ever goes down, I will be on it with the Russians till the DAY I DIE! They're impressive specimens and have done more for War2 than any other company or country when it comes to War2. Only Djinkhan came close to matching what they contributed.
They've proven very smart and capable, i'm sure they could incorporate updated sprites and graphics if we ever want to do our own remastered.
Or if someone wants to pay some serious money. War2 Could be reverse engineered to make more substantial changes.... Or might be easier to start from Scratch.
Would love to See a Proper war3-war2 Hybrid with a 3rd race that doesn't limit your ECON with peon constraints or upkeep.
You can keep screaming until you're blue in the Face that somehow playing on Microsoft servers will somehow revitalize the community, but it's never going to happen for good reason. Microsoft can't even get their OS right, yet their subsidiary will revitalize war2? Social Media engagement and streaming is what brings in new blood. ~TSA~ has become a welcome addition to the community because of Szwagiers online streaming and youtube videos, not Microsoft.
War2 AI computer that can defeat top players in 1on1 or team play, would be an interesting spectacle for bringing in people to the community.
