Title: Why does insight keep crashing?

I just got a new computer and I didn't notice this issue beforehand but that could just be a coincidence

I've tried recording or watching replays using both insight versions 104 and 105 - sometimes it works, most times it crashes, usually within the first few minutes. My war2 combat specifically is crashing, not insight.

I'm using the HD patch and I've tried changing the settings around on that, I'm running 2 monitors and my new PC has like 20 cores im also running  nvidia software which ive tried disabling.

I guess I'm just wondering if this is a common thing or if there's any troubleshooting steps i should try
im running windows 11 home Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700F   2.10 GHz and a RTX 4060

What is your operating system, and what CPU are you using?

Well, insight may crash on multicore systems if the processor affinity is not isolated to the same CPU core as the game.

So drop this script in the war2 folder (insight must be in the same folder) and it will do that for you.

If you are not the admin you may have to run the script as admin (right click run as admin).

thanks, i tried that script and it didnt solve the problem, my game crashed again almost immediately when i tried to watch a replay

It's probably the Windows 11 scheduler + CPU combo (28 threads, 20 cores) if you can turn off hyperthreading or "e-cores "in BIOS I would try that.

I had a similar problem with insight, War2 freezes on loading replays if I disable CCX switching in Project Mercury (AMD).

I tried disabling hyperthreading and that didn't work either

Finally figured out that it's got something to do with my 2nd monitor. I turned it off and everything seems to work fine. I'm pretty sure it's the HD patch and specifically something to do with lock cursor to window/screen setting in the war2 config file as the only time I got it working was with that disabled and if i recall i had all of the other settings turned off too but of course i can't play with my mouse flying off my screen to my extended display monitor.

anyway, what was happening is my war2combat would crash, and sometimes feel floaty/laggy beforehand so I guess that's a bug that the HD patch developer should know about
