Post by: the_magician on September 21, 2016, 11:52:53 AM
it seems nobody really uses this feature besides myself

why not make it auto host compstomp?

it doesn't seem like anyone can utilize this feature except new players

just a thought  8)

I believe Lance owns this bot, not the admins.

It does host comp stomp games, but it's random.  It will randomly host either an Old GOW EF game,  or a GOW BNE Compstomp game.  It's a 50/50 chance.  You can tell it to host a compstomp directly as well by using it's commands.

Most people use it to assist in hosting their own games using the enter/leave trick.  Basically if a group of players wants to play, but no one can host,  they can all enter the game hosted by the bot,  then they all leave,  someone hosts, and then they can all magically join.  That seems to be what most of the vet players use the bot for.  The new players will use it because its probably the only game that they dont get kicked from.  So it's useful to both old and new players alike.

thanks Lance, i've been able to host compstomps with it and enjoy low tier matches with new players.

It is a very useful bot :-)
For all the mentioned reasons and to launch 1v1 games on gow ef.

The only problem is that its help is not very clear.
I would just rewrite the help text to make it clearer for use.

How hard is it to incorporate more maps/settings?

Cheers

More comprehensive instructions available here: http://en.war2.ru/hostbot (http://en.war2.ru/hostbot)

Please include that link in one or both of the bot profiles when you get a chance Lance. :)
