Spb is a good example of AI that has been modified over time.  Why don't you ask him? [emoji1]

What file did you extract from war draft tell me the number. And you renamed the file to ai.bin and placed in war2.mpq?

You are the best thank you so much.
I have been looking for this software but then tried to use this guide being posted in the beginning of thread but I'm actually wondering if previously had some screenshoots to show because only shows text. This is the link posted: https://web.archive.org/web/20150424013642/http://www.warlords-of-warcraft2.com/index.php/new-computer-ai (https://web.archive.org/web/20150424013642/http://www.warlords-of-warcraft2.com/index.php/new-computer-ai)

So I tried to use the guide but can't find rez/ai.bin or any similar file inside war2dat.mpq , I would appreciate if you have any other guide to help or how to see "screenshoots" in that previous guide sent by tupac. I would appreciate so much some help. I love so much the game.
Regards

(http://i64.tinypic.com/2dsk0md.jpg) i seen some stuff in wardraft for the ai but i have yet to even try to mess with them.good luck on your quest!

you may want to look in war2patch.mpq also if there's one in it it will use that one over war2dat.

oh lol you need a file list!!!

Edit campaigns manually.
Get a MPQ editor.

http://www.zezula.net/en/mpq/download.html (http://www.zezula.net/en/mpq/download.html)

Open Ladik's MPQ Editor for example. Click the tools tab > click add > navigate to the path where you downloaded the ATTACHED list file below > click ok

Spoiler
(http://s27.postimg.org/7wbjqp5tv/image.png)

Time to edit WarCraft II!

File > Open MPQ > Go to where WarCraft II is installed > Open war2dat.mpq

Spoiler
(http://s24.postimg.org/d9wlabhgl/image.png)

You can extract these maps and change them and place them back. BOOM done. Go play your custom campaigns. If you would like to change other things such as text, you would need a .bin editor.
List files http://www.zezula.net/download/listfiles.zip (http://www.zezula.net/download/listfiles.zip)

referring tupac he has it posted! use warbne list file in that zip.

Thank you for your help friend I will check it out. I'm trying or I would like to know if I can modify warcraft 2 all campaigns with hardcore AI , some missions would look really challening if they become way more aggressive ( a couple of missions gets bugged and do nothing which is really awful).

use war2exed editor, single player im getting my ass kicked ...it has a lot of options..im using expansion 36..i cant beat them in solo missions they slack in multi.

play this on default all ...u wont survive but shows how dam aggressive the ai can be....i have to do more testing in bnet its not the same as it is in single.

ahhh yeah that map works on ums default .......they do what there supposed to do....kick ya ass!!!!

2 people maybe can if there good ..recommend the full 3 of average players.

all the ai does is foot archer then some ballistas but they dont stop rushing once it starts!
adding some heroes to protect the new people ... difficulty is on up there! :)

compuserve is obsolete it is now compugaden 4x4 counting on the cpu .... in map section

Also make sure the map and AI used are matched. Example that is very important.

1. Gold, lumber(you set AI to make tons of archers, but got one peon chopping wood... vise versa.)

2. Room for CPU to build.

3. Make sure you plan the AI out, and the maps also.

Easy way to fix, is to improve land attack AI, this default is used in so many maps, not campaign included.

Thank you guys for all your help and guides. I finally tried to modify some missions on war2 editor and tried to modify a little bit terrain and units but then I replace the archive into mpq file so afterwards trying to test it on the game , boom a crash !

Some way to make it working? I just read another thread from a guy who used mpqeditor WinMPQ instead of ladiks mpq editor. Same results.
I would appreciate some help :D

ok i have done this the other day it should work...if it  blacks out after mission briefing the file isnt there or is misnamed and you will be back at the menu.

im making a patch hopefully it will work and you can stay out of the main .mpq

ok the first human mission is gowbne lol sorry about that.... but edit this sucker to your liking....u may want to use beyond the dark portal for your customs as they dont have the noob start like tides.

the bytdp name is
Campaign\XHuman\2XHum01.PUD thru Campaign\XHuman\2XHum12.PUD
Campaign\XOrc\2XOrc01.PUD  thru Campaign\XOrc\2XOrc12.PUD
u can just rename mine better yet just add them in better safe than sorry idk if it would bug if tides is missing.

if u use winmpq be sure to delete the orignal before you put your mission in and it should be named as 2xhum01.pud and saved to Campaign\XHuman\.

I'm sorry very much finally I catch up what is going on. I was working with a copy of original war2dat.mpq so once the map was modified I copied into .mpq and then replacing the original one into war2 BNE main folder.

The problem was being made about the restriction "Read-only" from original .mpq . So I removed simply original .mpq and then moving the copy (with human01.pud modified inside). Boom ! it worked perfectly

So I would like to know if you knows how to remove restriction "read-only". I tried in properties with the main folder installation and .mpq original giving permission to modify anything but still doesn't work. Any idea? Thanks for all your help !!

mmm mine only "reads restrictions" only when i have war2 running ...no idea man yes copy will get around that.

but after you got your missions complete its best to move them to a war2patch.mpq so other people can play without downloading the big war2dat.mpq.

I will remember it. thanks anyway my friend. Just tried to use winmpq it's really cool too thanks again :)

If this problem just happens to anybody else. I had to remove war2dat.mpq from installation folder. Then just copy your modified maps for missions into your war2dat.mpq (COPY from the original) and then move it into war2 BNE installation folder. So then it worked for me , it doesn't matter which mpq editor you are using.

I have made more tests and got again the same crushed game. But finally got the final answer.
I used WinMPQ and this time everything worked perfectly. You doesn't need to remove original war2dat.mpq from installation folder.
Just extracted campaign files from original .mpq  so then modified the map and replaced the original one into the .mpq USING WINMPQ.
I don't know why but doing the last process with ladiks mpq editor produces a bug when testing the map on the game.
