Hi I'm new to this forum so bear with me. Whenever I try to download either map editor files from the downloads section, it comes up with that the file is malicious and will harm my computer. Does anyone know if these have been hacked or something like that oor is it just my PC being over zealous

i got the one from here also.im gonna say its safe.

Yeh, i'm just really paranoid as I nearly fried my hard drive with the last file I downloaded (from a different website) (took 6 hours to fix) that was supposedly fixing high latency, just taking more notice of the generic messages my PC comes up with at the moment I guess

Ha ha :D no it was to fix the problem of 2 people playing war2.ru on the same network, but I digress, am I definitely safe downloading the map editor? I used to love creating maps.

What anti virus do you have? It's most likely throwing false positives at you. Also you can use virus total.com to get results from multiple anti viruses.
Also some AV companies will allow you to upload the file for analysis I've done that for a few programs I wrote that would get flagged as virus and clearly wasnt.
Google Chrome has done that to us before on the war2combat.exe

Yea that looks like it was telling you it extracted those file successfully. But looks generic software it didn't even tell you a path unless you choose before.
Well you got it solved have fun. When you get bored of those use puddraft it like the original war2 and war2 ed map editor combined ;)

Yes, some files will get false positive from AV but you can always trust downloads from en.war2.ru, these are all apps that have been around for a long time and used safely by many. And that installer is a little derpy because it extracts to program files without telling you anything. Anyway, glad you got it working :)
I hope to eventually upload puddraft etc to the downloads page and make a section specifically for map editing, lots of cool abilities in the other editors like tupac says!

Yes also get the plugins for it unit editor, etc. Also for puddraft it requires a copy of the war2dos data files.
