Is there an anywhere to read about how the ladder ranking is calculated, what makes you climb/fall etc?
-
basicly if u dont play gow dont bother as half of the twats only play gow,,
and most get to top then make smurfs and wont play u unless they know u on there real name.

On the ladder.war2.ru ladder, when you beat a player, if they're ahead of you, you move up halfway to them. So if you're rank 99 and you beat rank 1, you move up to 50.
If you lose a game, there's no penalty, and warbandit's claim that people get names into the top 10 and then retire them isn't really true. Everyone in the top 10 is using their regular account and gets up there automatically by playing and winning in 1s.
Any bnet map counts toward the ladder although it's obviously true that GOW is the most popular map. If you can convince anyone above you to 1s on another BNE then that works fine too for climbing the ladder.

nobody really pays much attention to the ladder other than to see how one player does against another player in series.
as far as who is #1 or even the top 10 doesn't mean anything. the top 10 just shows who the most active gow/ef players who play 1v1 are... there are plenty of other gow/ef players who are better than people in the top 10, they just don't play 1v1 often.

Top 1 gets a pretty cool icon though.
