Title: Magic Crash fix released
Post by: iL on March 23, 2016, 07:17:45 PM
Let me repost that here, on the main forum section:
I'm writing a program that we can use to fix that known crash with ctrl 1 and building and spells. Most time this bug comes up alot is when playing free castles or a map where you blizzard a lot and ctrl building. What i suspect happens if they didn't hit ctrl 1 fully and had a barrack for example on ctrl 1 so when they mage with blizzard and alt 1 the building tries to cast blizzard and the game crashes immediately.

This is ruined countless good games before and it will no longer be a problem soon. My program detects if a building is selected if so you cannot use a spell this will not effect game play at all just abuse or the random crash.

Just released the fix: http://forum.war2.ru/index.php/topic,1915.msg35767.html#msg35767 (http://forum.war2.ru/index.php/topic,1915.msg35767.html#msg35767)
Please check and let me know that you have crash without my fix and war2 works fine with it.
I plan to include it to next version of loader, but need to make sure before.

Nice, fixed! I noticed something else -- I select the action for the peon then select the building with alt+1 and click, then next time I select the peon he won't move when I tell him to. After I press the hotkey to build something e.g. "bf" then esc he'll move again.

It's the mage crash from ctrl 1 a building and using 1 for mages also. If you dont properly ctrl 1boom you crash when mage.... very common in free castles.

Wow, great, reproduced!
Peon don't react to right mouse click, if i select several peons, all of them can move except this one, But he could be moved if i press "m" or "a" and then left click target.
Same behavior with my fix and without it, so not caused by my fix.

ctrl 1 a building and using 1 for mages also.
Works for barracks for me, but didn't work for farm. Not sure about other buildings...
