I've been debating doing this for a while. A tournament for Newbs once a month.
Here they can play against other newbs and maybe better there playing style. The only issue is what exactly constitutes a "Newb."
For instance I suppose I could be called a newb since im not really that well learned in all the variations of playing this game. \
or should a newb be somebody who doesn't even really know how to build.
Let me know bellow

Personally I think this tournament would be better serving players that aren't on the top 50 ladder ranking

Maybe get someone to help you host the tournament at the same time a "pro" tournament goes on. The newbs will decide for themselves which one they want to play in and u don't run the risk of a pro smurf joining the newb tournament and screwing it up

Record some good warvideo [emoji14]

I'd be down to commentate over some recorded insights so the new players can see what errors they made and what they did right

I suppose that makes sense, I would just make it maybe a half hour later then the professional tourney.
Probably for now i'll just keep it as GOW EF.
Your free to help out between rounds TK if your here on the 28th that is.

Yeah that probably sounds like a good idea.
Ill give the winner of the Newb tournament a $25 prize
It will be fun for them too i suppose.

Truthfully I doubt we will get more than 8 wanting to play in the newb tourney

It would be great f IL checked in advance the Ip's from players who want to enter the tournament to avoid smurfs. but who knows if he has time.

This will probably be a trial run 1st time around.
Hard to say if it will work out or not.

When are you planning on having the tournament? If I have the chance, I want in.

probably the same day as the Professional one November 28th, expect it will start at 4:30pm.
Date and time not finite yet though probably by this weekend I will finalize this.

Great idea
Maybe xxxsmeagolxxx can join the tourney? He's experienced at clicking and patrolling but still doesn't know how to build , mine etc. this would be a good chance to move up from playing his practise maps

I have decided I will be doing a trial tournament which will be exclusively for non professional players.
The map will be Gow Ef on High. And will be held on November 28th with the start time being 4:30pm
The prize will be a 25 dollar prize for the winner.

me win :)

Well Saturday will be the start of the first newb tourney.
I do have a humble request to all the professional players on war2.
Do not attempt to smurf your way into the newb tornament.
The whole point of the newb tournament is to give players who are not quite up to par a couple good games to improve upon their existing skills.
And to give them a fun couple hours as well.
If you are a tier 1-3 player play in the pro tourney.
So in conclusion if your a professional player and you attempt to smurf your way into the newb tourney I will boycott you for all my December tourneys.

I think the the most proper way to avoid smurfs is to filter players with minimal 20 games for example. With additional known guarantor to confirm he is really a new player (if you don't know that player yourself).
I can check his ip/hardware ID after the tournament by your request to avoid using account by another person.

Yeah i did already consider this.
I will probably make players get onto accounts that they have some type of win/loss record with.
If anything does seems suspect I will check with IL after the tourney.
