This question is probably asked frequently, but since the forums did not work privious year i am new to this forum. The question is, is it possible to run ingame music (classis war2 OST) while playing online multiplayer games. I play chop mainly and sometimes i get sick of just the chop noises, ingame background music will help me getting more focused probably aswell and is less boring afterall.
Is it possible?
Regards.

Just messed around with it a bit, it seems to be as simple as loading the CD (or mounting the war2bne ISO) and copying the file "install" into the war2combat directory. It's ~400mb

Correct, just replace the war2combat install.exe with the battle.net version install.exe.
Anyway, we could put this exe in the download section mouse??

I've been avoiding linking directly to this file when people ask about the music in order to avoid, I dunno, copyright infringement or something? I honestly don't know if providing this file is any more or less illegal than providing war2combat itself. Probably not?

It some sense I am sure it is illegal, along with the whole war2ru project as we don't have a license or blizzard's written permission to use their copyrighted material. However, since the community is not directly profiting from their copyrighted material or providing cd-keys to users to fully utilize their battle.net service I don't think they would care. But at the end of the day, they have a team of big bad corporate lawyers and we have a blid [emoji10], maybe good to just play it safe [emoji16][emoji106] then.

so ...no ingame muzak? what this!?!? ..........anyone get the music working without the battle.net iso?

u can use il's exe sound program.....copyright is 20 years so bnet is almost safe??cause lets say nintendo cant shut down copying old school systems but can shut down youtube from thier music
ie prince till he died.
intellectual rights idk lol but im gonna say the music is more a reason than the game..the midis are free use from the dude that created them.
didnt back in the heyday blizz shut down freecraft?? aka wargus
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratagus
if blizz does that to us lol (which no way in hell they are)we can already make it another name. ;)
just to the people that want the full experience..bells and whistles just buy war2 from amazon,if the game collectors hasnt skyrocketed the price.
or you know they are other ways...
ftp://ftp.war2.ru/war2/War2Music.exe get that!

Ive read some of this.
my friend back in the 90s recorded custom sounds for the units. really freaking neat. i still have them. they would be a neat addition to the game.
also some of the old war2 music has been giving the HD remake treatmeant here and there by blizzard.
instead of the same old MIDI the game came with i think its time to buff the soundtrack and some of the sfx and voices and include them in a future patch/verion.

Why don't you upload those sounds? I would like to hear them.
