Updated the script, old version works but may not play nice with future versions of powershell.   >:D

Palette2PAL converts WAR2 PPL files to PAL format compatible with most GRP tools (SFGrpConv, RetroGRP etc),

The script self copies to %PATH% so once run once, you can run it locally from any directory.

I guess it might work for War1 palettes as well, I haven't tested.

It's the second script by the way, "Random Game Port.cmd", the third might help, too.

Try changing your game port.

There is a hard coded delay to prevent lag, something like this.

Extra high latency (73 frame delay)
High latency (53 frame delay)
Low latency (38 frame delay)
Warlat (26 frames delay)
LAN (12 frame delay)

Ideally the latency should be variable, based on the slowest link, for there to be no lag the delay must be equal or greater than the slowest connection but in reality most players won't tolerate variable unit response time so we put up with some minor lag or find players we don't conflict with.

You can find the warlat code here, not sure it has any relevance since they built remastered up from the War2 beta (according to {Lance}).

Support Requests / Re: Why does insight keep crashing?

It's probably the Windows 11 scheduler + CPU combo (28 threads, 20 cores) if you can turn off hyperthreading or "e-cores "in BIOS I would try that.

I had a similar problem with insight, War2 freezes on loading replays if I disable CCX switching in Project Mercury (AMD).

Well, insight may crash on multicore systems if the processor affinity is not isolated to the same CPU core as the game.

So drop this script in the war2 folder (insight must be in the same folder) and it will do that for you.

If you are not the admin you may have to run the script as admin (right click run as admin).

What is your operating system, and what CPU are you using?

The rally plugin won't work online unless all players have it installed, it will drop/desync the moment its used.

If you are still interested, try updating lambchops(lc.dll, attacthed), goes in War2 folder.

He is exploiting a bug in widescreen patch, not a hack.

I won't share how it's done here, it might be patchable by the author but there is no way to block it on the victim side.

Warcraft II widescreen patch should fix most of these kind of issues

https://forum.war2.ru/index.php?topic=6461.msg101768#msg101768

If you prefer the default resolution (640x480) you can do that in Warcraft II BNE.ini

Seems to lower overall latency on my machine(AMD), mouse movement is noticably faster. Intel machines should see a similar improvement.

DiLLs try running my network optimizer.

If that doesn't help try disabling C-States (script attacthed). Windows 11 has made many changes to the scheduler and might behave poorly with certain CPUs,

with c-states disabled all cores are ready for work at all times but you pay a penalty in idle power draw, so keep an eye on power draw and idle temperature, they will shift instantaneously.

The setting persists across reboot but only applies to the current windows power plan (balanced or high performance, etc), once set it is tied to that plan permanently,

you can revert to default behavior any time with the third script, all scripts should be run as admin (right click > run as admin).
