So, let me introduce our new build in honor of that day:

War2Combat 5.0!

    - The main developer of the combat have been changed to: Mistral. Reworking the main executable file of the game: fois. Project curator: il
    - The concept of the combat has been changed.
        - The installer with a bunch of confusing settings has been removed, the optimal default settings have been selected, they are used when installing the game.
        - Important system settings of the game have been moved from the registry directly to the main executable file of the game.
        - A launcher has been made for the most important settings, as well as a configurator.
       - Now the combat can be downloaded and updated online, directly through the launcher.

    - Now the only executable file of the game, has become a widescreen version, adapted for new modern monitors and showing more game space on the screen.
    - Combat allows you to enter both the official Blizzard server and any unofficial ones.
    - The ddraw configurator and the ddraw files themselves have been updated.
    - Now the OpenGL visualizer is selected by default for rendering the game on modern computers, using shaders for anti-aliasing and obtaining a beautiful modern picture.
      OpenGL correctly displays the BNET chat, but it switches the monitor resolution.
      So, it's still possible to switch to the old GDI, which used to be the main visualizer before. The chat is still displayed in a resolution of 640x480.
      You can also use the new GDI visualizer from the developer narzoul, which allows you to scale the BNET chat. However, it does not support switching to windowed mode.
    - All necessary plugins for the game have been updated and tested.
    - Combat includes the final versions of War2InSight and WarVideo, compatible with current and earlier versions of Warcraft II.
    - The map editor has been updated by the developer: fois. Unit limit check has been removed, and other small improvements have been made.
    - Utilities for map makers have been added: PudPic, as well as WarMaker.
    - A trigger editor for maps has been added: War2 Triggers Editor.

I like the idea to keep as a mod for the moment as I gave my reasons in the other topic.

Good work. Did anyone test / validate the changes ? Hehe

God forbid we fix the broken balanced of this game by making it more broken?? What sort of BS is this? Oh yeah whats more fun a game where all you do is spam overweight yellow alien men who pummel each other to death or experiment with other stuff? Look man or guys this isn't a good time to be conservative about the game its for the good of the game , if you can abuse the same strategy every damn time is this "great game design"? Nope try any other RTS with well adjusted balance like aoe2 and you will find the difference to be staggering.

Its the same story in red alert 2 you can get away with spamming prism tanks as allies and soviets can hardly answer it cuz they are so slow and their long range unit is crap.

Think about what's good for the game , by allowing rangers and trolls to be more viable dragons and gryphs being cheaper the risk factor feels reduced of course personally I think flyers costing 2000 gold would make them very appealing.

Not every change has to be met with negativity , that's a nice way to kill the game by fixing no issue at all , I say we open our mind to change its very important for the GOOD OF THE GAME its all that matters whatever benefits the game is GOOD even if some parts of the community don't like it.

so ed, purists & conservatives will complain over and over again because game is not 100% as they have played for several years, so allow official-rebalance as option like rebalanced mode.

But this is tricky. As far as i know Triggers mode works with use map settings only, so allow official-rebalance to be used as melee or top vs bottom game-modes as well

Make Remaster balance another option separate, do not replace community balance(with community input). IMO.

I think is a good idea to follow blizzard changes . But needs to be implemented slowly like replacing that rebalance mode for this one first leaving like an option.

We don’t know which changes they are still up to do right know. Better to wait before fully change here. My opinion.

No its not a good idea, because alot of things dont make sens, like the nerf on blizzard mage or the cost of dragons. I dont say everything is bad, but if we add everything that dont make sens like these 2 exemple its gonna be a mess.

If we do things like this we gonna end up with a broken game pretty quick.

Instead we should just focus on rebalance like we have always planned, but we never did, they give us rebalance and never work on it anymore, its gonna be almost 5 years rebalance never had an update, but the moment blizzard do a patch, they find skills to copy it in 1 night for u8... Like are you kidding me...

If peoples dont play rebalance its because it's bad from the start, no one want to repair catapult, you want peoples to play rebalance, then give it some love, work harder on it and talk with the community to know exactly what is the best. And like i said, BUFF THE FIRE BALL ON MAGE!!!

But seriously, why would you do that, keep that thing as an option game mode, just like rebalance, and instead to focus on what blizzard do, make better with rebalance.

If its the same as blizzard why i would not go play at blizzard instead? The only reason why i would play here its because it's better than blizzard.

Do we really want a mage that cant blizz anymore? What we want is a mage that obliterate 6 ogers in almost one shot with a fire ball.
