***Description***

-Since about 2019 that have been doing war2 mods and i thought it would be a great time to make a mod that condensed all, if not most of the features that have been working with since then.

-I started this mod though as an intention to fully release a mod request from war2 community member: Supreme Anova, but eventually wanted to make better off a whole universal mod that can potentially include his sub-pack mod into here.

-The mod is initially be made to work with base game + custom maps, but hopefully can be expanded to future mods that can be included into here, so i dont have to keep making sub-mod threads for each one of them. So everything may be included in here with just different plugins.

-The mod itself may sound similar to you with respect to other existing war2 mods like:
Multiplayer patch v11 (https://gamebanana.com/mods/507336) or
single player patch v12 (https://gamebanana.com/mods/514538)

but this mod is more likely intended to be the definitive mod, the ultimate attempt to compile as much as the work being done over 6 years into one single mod in 2026+ year.

-This is it, fellows, the greatest compilation from all features that I've made, thanks to Ed gorod's code, tenacity and hardwork into giving whole new features for Warcraft 2.
This is the ***unification*** mod for such a reason.

-This is my biggest attempt to compile all the features since I started modding around 2018-2019.
It's what I wanted to be a "Warcraft 2 remaster" way back before official War2 remaster was launched in november 2024.

-I never pretended to compete with Blizzard's remaster since 2024 but what I envisioned could ever feel like to have a modern version from Warcraft 2 with actual new features included to the game.. Ultimately, hope you have fun around buddy, as much as it took me to make all of these mods, including this one. The "Warcraft 2 Fan Remaster", but eventually named this mod as "Unification".

**Features**

-Well, the mod has so several files and features but will attempt to list all, if not most of them in a brief way.
*Base game plugin*
1) 20+ Tilesets, including base Forest, winter, wasteland & orc swamp. In base game, randomized after restarting mission OR re-loading.

2) Several "Damaged" Portrait Icons, including all base game and some custom ones. Author: MFromAzeroth (http://www.youtube.com/@mfromazeroth).

3) NGAS (New Gen. Audio System) feature that is available already in several mods like Road of Heroes, Trolls Revolution, QoL packs or Reversed Races.

4) Shift Command, like StarCraft.

5) Rally points, including flags for such.

6) Only available for base campaigns, custom maps and possible future mods. It can be combined right now with existing mods like DAIFE vanilla or Insane Edition vanilla.

7) Daytime Forest cycle. Like Warcraft 3, you can see all daytime stages in Forest tileset.

8) Each tileset (forest, winter, wasteland, swamp) is a group on itself for this mod, so for each group there can be randomized different set of tilesets. For more detailed Tilesets list, you can check out:
(https://gamebanana.com/mods/514538). In this mod is also included ZergCraft tileset for Forest pack.

9) Different set of audios (unit quotes), sprites, icons for the same unit (e.g: a Knight or Archer). Aka: different personalities for the same unit. They're randomized once they pop out from production facilities.

10) On this mod, its available to select 3 modes: Warcraft 1 - Warcraft 2 - Warcraft 3 modes. To check hotkey, go in-game to Keystroke help option or with F1 keyboard key.
* War1 mode basically means: As many War1 unit/building/unit quotes I could import as possible into War2 engine. It includes NGAS feature.
* War2 mode - as default as i could possibly set, so audios are as base game in case you want to hear units in another language.
* War3 mode - this mod includes most of the modding i did across the years, including different unit audio quotes, sprites, icons.

11) Game Alerts, like Upgrade complete such as Warcraft 3 or Starcraft 1.
Including low gold left on mines, oil patches and died heroes.
Also, alerts for not enough gold, farms, lumber, oil, mana.  All in war3-mode only.

12) Aside of daytime forest, there's raining (no thunder), raining storm (yes thunder), snowstorm (snowflakes) including environment audios for such. Some tilesets include these features like snowstorm tileset or Wetland or War1 swamp tileset.

13) Disabled Act & cinematics for now on base campaigns.

14) For now (january 5th, 2026) i enabled  Footman shield available (since castle tech, 30% damage reduction) that has been previously available in other mods like road of heroes or trolls revolution, but eventually can add up
other recent extra unit/upgrades like Riflemen + upgrade from Reversed races mod. Hopefully can add up more upgrades in future.

15) Save-load fix feature.

*Base game plugin*

16) Check keystroke help sub-menu in-game for all the Mod & new keyboard shortcuts.

17) Peons wait to build: When a worker gets an order to build anything, if some new unit gets in place, peon will wait till that unit moves away and it will start to build.

18) Animated buildings for War1 & War3 modes. This feature comes from Reversed races mod.
Thus far, january 5th, 2026 there are the next animated buildings. All of them mainly made for Forest/Wasteland tilesets:
War1:
Orc barracks, human barracks, townhall, orc blacksmith
War2 - humans:
Castle, human blacksmith, human shipyard, human barracks
War2 - orcs:
war2 greathall alpha, stronghold - 2 versions, fortress, orc barracks, orc blacksmith - 2 versions, troll lumbermill, orc foundry - 2 versions, goblin alchemist.

Animated buildings are available in every tileset EXCEPT Forest, Snowstorm, Winter, Glacier.

19) Custom left UIs, the ones you see in left side during missions. In War3 mode, there're several of them available: 2 for orcs and 4 for humans if remember correctly. They're automatically disabled in war1 - war2 modes. There's a keyboard shortcut to disable it in war3 mode as well. These UIs are available in game resolution 960x544. Any other should have base game UIs.

20) Features that will be enabled for custom sub-mods on this one:
-AI fix plugin: https://forum.war2.ru/index.php?topic=6127.msg102091#msg102091
-Repairable catapults/ballistas
-Repairable ships in shorelines
-Repairable Gnomish Machines/Goblin Zeppelins
-Units danny rebalance, like the changes you could see in mods like Road of heroes or Trolls revolution.
Aka: more hp, more attack speed for skeletons. More attack speed for archers/trolls/rangers/berserkers/dragons/gryphons, cheaper healing, buffed flame shield, nerfed range/mana cost for blizzard/death & decay and more.

21) War1 remaster music in War1 mode. War2 mode has default music. War3 mode has some custom fan-made music & the one from War3. This music has been already available in several other mods like RoH or Trolls rev.

22)  Some custom Hero sprites used here, coming from War2 Chocolate for Combat Edition

23) In war3 mode there're available all, if not most of War2 Alpha sprites & icons being randomized with the rest from catalogue available. Buildings & Units.

How to install & play:

*Base game plugin*

1) Install War2Combat from: https://warcraft2.online

2) Decompress Mod pack and send UniFiles sub-folder to your War2Combat main folder.

3) Send "Data" folder to your War2 folder.

4) Send unification.exe to your War2 Combat folder.

5) Send the plugin file: plugin_unification.w2p to your War2Combat/Plugin sub-folder

6) load the game from unification.exe

***Description***

-I've decided to make this mod because I've been asked for something like this since like 5 years ago. Some few other people I saw interested through the years and communities. Not sure if somebody may ever like this stuff, but at least its a different way to play this game.

-This mod is basically just as the title says, a mod that allows to play all 4 Warcraft 2 campaigns with Reversed Races. So that means, everytime you were intended to play with Orc race, you play as Humans. And your opponent(s) is/are the reversed race as it was originally intended.

-At first release, this mod is based on DAIFE mod difficulty v6.964 - which is already one of my best attempts in War2 mods to deliver the actual original intended difficulty by Blizzard Enterintament since 1995, but with many bug fixes that the base game lacks. So expect a higher difficulty than base game.

-The mod has many bug fixes compared to base game & Quality of Life features. This is not some cheap easy way to simply flip up all races in all maps and releasing the mod. It has some fixed core features that otherwise, wouldn't work as intended. It will be described in Features section

-Here finally is, Warcraft II Chocolate mod that is available for War2Remaster (v1.7) but now for War2 Combat (Classic).

-This mod is basically a Fork that initially was made for War2Remaster, but with several enhancements included here for War2Combat, that can be possible to apply, due to the new generation features that are available for modding the game, in War2Combat.

-You can visit War2Remaster Choco mod version to see the features from that mod, but in short terms here, War2 Choco mod basically includes:
*Game rebalance from War2Remaster (provided by Blizzard Entertainment in december 2024),
*aside from other balance changes provided as ideas from the community member, ErenusSocrates, that requested them for that mod.
*map fixes for proper AI functionalities,
*some maps with custom computer Allies for player.

-All of these features mentioned before, but also now included in War2 Choco - Combat mod version, you can get:
*Rally points

-A community member asked for a new Warcraft 2 Remaster mod, which contemplates Blizzard's game rebalance from december 2024 plus his own Game rebalance proposal with its additions.
-Aside of that, several proposed changes for the campaign maps.

-This community member named as ErenusSocrates has originally made a post with modified maps for War2Combat, including several of the game proposed changes. Its included on the screenshots as a reference.

-There're several changes which I cannot expose all of them in description but in screenshots you can see them all. And within the mod package files, you can also check all of the mission + rebalance changes for this mod.

-Each campaign gets an extra computer rescuable Ally for one mission map. No spoilers.

-This Chocolate mod has several mission map & AI Fixes that come from the already existing, DAIFE & DAE mods

This means, several missions maps that are taken from base game are already functional now with their original AI scripts to properly work from start to end. Most noticeable fixed missions are like:

Description

-This is a mod being based on a couple of custom maps being made by Moon, a community member from AsApp's discord, being also related to play war2 custom maps.

-This Moon guy stated to make this mod from 2023, so i decided to make an enhanced version with map triggers, audio/visual enhancements, quality of life features.

-The original mod also contained some small mission briefings so they were adapted now to this mod, as if it was a campaign.

-Customized mission triggers for each map.

-The campaign-mod has 7 missions, yet there're another 7 extra ones that can also be played from menu.

-If had to value original difficulty from values:
very easy ---  easy --- normal --- above normal --- challenging --- hard --- very hard --- impossible-like

then I'd rate it as between "easy" and "normal".

-Original difficulty is now set as "Normal-default-initial" difficulty on this mod. If feel motivated enough, I may release a Hard difficulty for this mod aside from some additional triggers as well.

-Big thanks to original Author, Moon for having such a creativity in original content, to bring all this mod up to life.

-Original files are included in main package.

Description

-I've made a small mod for Warcraft 1 where you can attempt to play the game in Hard mode.
This mod has tweaked AI difficulty where computers train up units way faster from buildings like barracks, churchs or towers.

-Missions that have increased their difficulty are pretty much the ones that are macro oriented missions, so not the ones that are about infiltration (like human4).

-Missions modded are:
Human3 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12
Orc3 -5 -6 -7 -9 - 10 - 11 -12

-Computers now:
*Train peons way faster
*Research upgrades way faster
*Launch attacks way faster
*Attacking groups scale way faster, where usually they were sent in groups of 1-3 units from base game. It would take so long to see bigger groups

-Since now Computers get actual Upgrades for their units, this is an indirect Buff for Scorpions/Spiders/Skeletons/Demons/Water Elementals, which indeed seem stronger in combat and can be a threat.

hi, like title says i ask moderators or admins if is ever going to be another War2 Combat ladder season.

But most specially, wondering if this time will be added up a season with Blizzard-War2Remaster rebalance.

For the first time, in 30 years, I've seen one single Blizzard's official game rebalance patch for Warcraft II, where I significantly see a chance for Humans to be playable on the game, in frontal combat and in fair 1 vs 1 game.

For some very unknown reason to me, no people ever talk about it in the most populated and regularly visited War2 server. The only ones I've seen talking about it, are beginners - casual level people from War2 Remaster.

This rebalance patch may not be perfect, but its a legit intention for the first time in 30 years, to see Humans being actually playable.

Why no people interested in ?

Why no interest in making a whole ladder system with this rebalance mode, even if its officially launched by Blizzard Entertainment and made available by Ed gorod ?

Like if people would like to be hardstucked in OrcCraft II or BloodlustCraft II for ever.

My main concerning is that past Ladder season in the beginning of year, actually added up a whole set of different maps to play with, even if the so beloved Gardens of War was added up. But it still gave variety at last, even though it was same base game balance.

No intentions to fight, but would like legit answers to this, if ever possible please.

I could understand 5 years ago, that people would think War2 would be stucked to Bloodlust + Death & decay for ever, since official developers never released a game patch or rebalance patch, but that's no more thanks to Ed gorod (most likely and other admins from community). Yet, even with official content, people still dont ask for stuff like the Rebalance mode which makes Humans finally an option to fairly win Orc oponnents.

Description:

-There's a guy in War2Combat community that has made a Warcraft 2 game re-balance for a couple of unit/spells since June, 2024.
He included his changes into a couple of "most likely" Multiplayer maps that are played on Russian server, online.

-I've talked with him and just decided to make a campaign mod which include all of his in-mind rebalance purposal for Warcraft 2.

-The mod contains a sub-folder with the changes for BaseCampaigns experience OR DAIFE mod.
DAIFE is one of my oldest mods but its been taken from the last update that it recieved, so the version 6_963 (https://gamebanana.com/mods/288680)

-Changes (for now) include:
a) mana cost changes for different spells:
heal: 4mana/1hp
exorcism: 2mana/1hp
bloodlust: 100 mana
fireball: 80 mana
death oil: 80 mana
polymorph: 150 mana
blizzard: 80 mana
death & decay: 80 mana
whirlwind: 80 mana
unholy armor: 200 mana

b) bloodlust nerfed to 2x damage

c) auto-heal for paladins

d) upgrade power boosts:
-ground armor upgrades from +2 to +1
-ground sword upgrades from +2 to +1
-arrow upgrades from +1 to +2
-catapult damage upgrades from +15 to +20

-Personally included Repairable catapult/ballistas feature for this mod

Description:

Would you feel like Computers are too stupid or not such a challenge to fight against in Custom maps?

Would you like to check a hidden mod made by a community member since years ago and it' available on the installer from War2Combat ?

Here I give you easier access to that mod, being called as Rotonda's AIE mod for Custom maps.

This mod I checked very little but it's supposed to make computers way more of a Challenge for Custom maps. I bet it can be played with more people, but it's needed that all of them contain the same Rez\ai.bin file that is contained within this package, otherwise will cause to drop out from game.

This mod is available since several years on the installer from War2Combat (https://warcraft2.online)

I have not checked if all computers work properly, but at least the mod is packed up with an AI file that has customized difficulty for computers in all mod custom maps.

The mod contains 2 sub-folders, one for the custom AI difficulty and one for Custom maps for the mod. These maps can be created either from Single player Custom maps or LAN or online , but remember that for Multiplayer you all players need to be using the same AI file contained on this mod, because otherwise will cause game drop.

What is this?

this is a mod intended to provide Quality of life features for Warcraft 2, whether they're visual, audio, game mechanics or game re-balance.

Hopefully i can incorporate more individual features into the last mod package, so you can pick up one of them for your usage.

The features in this mod, depending of each sub-package are intended to work mostly for Single player, yet some of them can potentially work for Multiplayer. I will let you know on each sub-package on each description if they work for single or multiplayer.

The features in here are new generation modding features being packed up on each sub-package, that could came up since around late 2019 and onwards.

Features?

The main mod package contains a sub-folder with  package number. Some of these can be combined with others and some of them are universal, aka: they can be used with base game or combined with more complex mods, to provide basic features that can potentially improve your warcraft 2 experience.

Default features for Packs with custom tilesets:
-Footman shield sprite
-Paladin sprite with yellow eyes when researched upgrade.
-Rangers with hood, after ranger upgrade
-Rain of Fire spell, instead of Blizzard. It has icon, sound effect and respective hotkey
-Heal from Warcraft 1, icon and sound effect
-Scorpion critter in Tilesets like Desert or Beach
-Spider critter on RainyValley tileset
-Hell critter in ZergCraft tileset
-Custom orc/human farm sounds from War2 alpha
-Dwarves with custom sprite, basically with larger sword
-Custom torpedo (submarines) sprite,  exorcism, death knight basic attack

Pack 1:

Instead of Forest, ZergCraft: originally extracted by Incos - community member and packed it up in a whole new tileset, fixed by me. This tileset is based on the mythical screenshot & mockup being released on the internet about Starcraft 1 alpha, aka: Orcs in space. The tileset never was released but this is my biggest attempt to bring to life this tileset for people.

Save Load Fix plugin:
-In short terms, Warcraft II since its DOS version has issues with Save-reloading where computer bugs out and stops working properly. Blizzard never fixed up these bugs. With this plugin, all of that is solved. Thanks to Ed gorod by his plugin. More info in sub-pack.
It can work universally with any other mod. Highly recommended to have way more functional AI to play against. If you play VS comps with OTHER people, ALL OF THEM need to have this plugin file in plugin folder.

Save load fix + AI Fix plugin:
-It provides save load fixes, from previous sub-pack, but here combined with AI FIX PLUGIN. If you want more info about AI Fix functionalities for War2, you can visit in:

Dont attempt to combine this plugin with previous Save Load Fix Plugin on Plugin folder. It may cause bugs.

How to install & play?
- Process is:

1) Install War2 Combat, being provided by russian community in https://en.war2.ru or warcraft2.online. All the options by default on installer.

2) Some of the sub-folders contain a so called "War2patch.mpq". Just place it on your main War2Combat folder, then just play.

3) Some of the sub-folders contain a plugin .w2p file. Just place it in your Plugin folder from War2Combat.

Going forward, even if a game is no longer available for sale on GOG, as part of the GOG Preservation Program, it will continue to be maintained and updated by us, ensuring it remains compatible with modern and future systems.

We're incredibly proud of our work on both Warcraft: Orcs and Humans and Warcraft II, bringing them back to life after decades of unavailability and introducing several improvements to ensure the best possible experience, as close to the original as possible.

Although we’ll soon no longer be able to offer these games in our store, anyone who purchased them before they were removed will still enjoy the most compatible, high-quality versions, guaranteed by the GOG Preservation Program.

And because we’re DRM-free, you’ll have access to their Offline Installers, ensuring lifetime access to enjoy them whenever you like. This is what these titles—and you as gamers—deserve.
