Server.War2.ru / Server Down 5/26/19

Hey Admins/IL are we aware the server has been down all day? I would assume you would be aware but seeing as nobody plays this game anymore, maybe not. Backup is down too. Mouse's works, like usual.

Server.War2.ru / Backup Servers

I figure this is a good time to bring it up. Here is my question. Let's say the normal server has 67 people on. Server goes down, you go to backup server, and it only has 7 people on. Now, sure, maybe people in the past have just decided to wait but obviously this is going to take a while because this is Drama.RU. Even though you people all have (or most) jobs, should be in your 30s (mostly) and much more mature. But that is another story.

Mouse's server right now, has a whole 23 users online currently. My question is, why is that? Do people just stop playing the game because they don't want to click a couple more times before they log in? Are they anti backup servers?

I'm going to go with, a lot of people don't know about the backup servers, but that is just my assumption. How well do we advertise or show people what to do when the server is down?

Is it ever posted on the home page or forum when the main server goes down? Are there bots on the other backup servers telling people where to go? Something just doesn't make sense here and I'm curious what you guys think.

Side note: Mouse, maybe you can answer this. Why does your server not get spammed?

So, everyone knows, when there is a game of say, GOW going, you pretty much have to sit and wait for the game to get out to be able to play, 80% of the time.

It is very boring to sit and stare at the chat, so then I wind up tabbing and the second I tab and go back, I've missed the game and have to wait another 15 minutes. This is rather annoying and makes me walk away from playing often.

Programmers out there, is there any chance that something could be created to make a simple chime or noise indicating when a specific game or games are over? This would be most advantageous if it worked in windows so that when you tab, you can hear when a game is out even when War2 is minimized.

Just an idea.

I see the host bot is up but I still see that people have no idea about it or how to use it. Does the average person know what a EF_Hostbot is or does?

Understandably, there are only so many characters to be descriptive about in the screen name.

I hosted a game from the bot to show a noob and, even though he still didn't quite get it, other noobs were in the game I hosted. Long story short. Is there a way that maybe every.... 5-10 mins a game can be auto hosted from the bot?

I'm not sure if that would lag it or make any issues but I mean, noobs join games. We all know this because most of us kick them out. They just don't know how to make them.

If they don't know how to make them or use the bot, let's just make it for them? Maybe when they join the game, you can put instructions on how to use it or something.

Just an idea to help people play and more newer people play with more newer people.

Server.War2.ru / Unable to connect specifically after a game

I've been getting this for weeks now and it is very annoying. It doesn't say connection lost in the game or anything and when I get out of a game (no lag or anything) I disconnect. Well, I sit in the chat and everything I click on says waiting for bnet to respond.

Then I go re-log and I get stuck at the checking versions screen for like 20 minis. It is incredibly annoying, especially when I have good games going and then it gets ruined.

Does anyone else get this or know a solution to it? It would be helpful because it just happened again to me.

Maybe I'm taking this forum too seriously but I have been back playing War2 for over 4 years now (at least) and I have yet to be on any of the forums. Why, you might ask? Because when I go on here and read these topics and all of the responses, I feel like I am just reading a bunch of high school kid's Facebook posts.

If there is actually a topic I'm interested in, I have to go through 30 comments of insults, immaturity, and trolling, just to get some sort of closure on the original comment/concern.

There is a time and a place, even on this forum, for messing around and stupid idiotic comments, but I feel like some people like to post, just to post. They add absolutely nothing productive to the conversation and it is extremely annoying and unprofessional. I know this isn't a "business" per se but I feel like these forums should serve a legit purpose, otherwise, why do they even exist?

I do care about this game and would like to see real matters and legit concerns dealt with in a more appropriate and controlled atmosphere by fellow players who are not admins. Weather that means deleting posts or banning people from posting to a specific topic (I have no idea if that can be done).

Maybe I am alone on this but I hope I am not. I would like to know if anyone else has similar feelings and what the admins think about this as well. Let the trolling and unnecessary comments begin...
