Title: Two Players from same ip.
Post by: captianbob on April 27, 2015, 08:46:39 PM
Is it possible for two people to play from the same ip? Me and a friend were trying and only one of us could join.
Any Help or tips would be very appreciated.

that thread is a waste of time, I already posted a reg file before and people can just double click it and its done.

It's built into the 401 edition of combat. Just pay attention when installing....

Send, I'll make a standarized article on the site that we can send people to.

Claws article is not a waste of time, ITS NOT AS CHANGING GAME DATA PORTS WITH REG FILE

Basically for 2 player WITH PC1 ABLE TO HOST:

1. Regedit using Claw's forum post. Set your PC1 Game Data Port to 6112
2. Regedit PC2, set Game Data Port to 6120
3. On your router, forward ports 6112-6119 to PC1. Also Forward 6120 to PC2.

Now PC1 can host, and PC2 can join his game or another game.

Claws post for changing Game Data Port in Reg http://forum.war2.ru/index.php/topic,151.0.html (http://forum.war2.ru/index.php/topic,151.0.html)

Troubleshooting:
To make sure PC1 is using 6112, and PC2 is using 6120, log on to war2.ru and type "/netinfo"

1. It's unnecessary to set game data port to 6112, that's the default.
2. This can also be done by installing Combat v4 and using the random port feature.
3. Only forwarding 6112 is necessary, and only forwarding for PC1 is needed if only PC1 is going to be hosting.

This also isn't a 100% guaranteed fix for two players on the same network. There's at least one thread on here that describes all the hoops some guy jumped through to configure & forward ports on multiple computers, only to have no (or only intermittent) success. I also helped two other people set this up and they both ended up being able to host, but not join each other's games. Poor internet connection was likely a factor in the latter case.
