Players i do miss
« on: June 24, 2026, 11:07:34 AM »
Hi everyone, I thought I’d create a post for players who, unfortunately, don’t play anymore or only very rarely.
The game is so old, players come and go. Legends never die— they’ll always be remembered.

Which players do you miss?
Players who were your friends, players who were your rivals, or just players who make you think, “That’s really a shame.”
Lately, I’ve noticed that some talented new players have joined over the years.
They’ll probably never know what great players we had 10–20 years ago.

But I also have to say that the skill level has improved in some ways. Many little tricks have been discovered in the meantime that nobody had thought of back then. Just to give one example (the peon who takes the gold sack and builds a farm at s9 to wall, only to then run into the hall so as not to waste a peon).

Here’s the list I have in my head right now—please forgive me if I forget one or two.
Maybe if you post your lists, it’ll help me remember some others.

BHC-HAWK
was the best German player for years. Even back then, his early-game play drove top players to madness. He's an incredibly good player; I learned a lot from him. I hope he comes back someday.

Medivh aka Legolas
Incredible talent, an incredibly great person.
We had many conversations; to me, he was the most underrated 1v1 player. He was incredibly good, but unfortunately, many people didn't appreciate that—or rather, didn't recognize his incredible talent.
I hope you come back, and I wish you all the best, wherever you are.

Papaschlumpf.s
When I first started playing, he was online every day and showed me a lot of things.
He was really obsessed with the game and knew EVERYTHING about it.
He wasn’t the best, but he was a very dedicated player. At some point, I got better than him, but that was only because I got to practice with him.
Those were the days on the Euro server—guys, that was easily 20 years ago, and I still remember them vividly.

BHC-Jesk
One of my long-time German rivals. We’ve had many battles.
A great person, always polite, never stuck up, a great ally—where are you??

Poscow
A really great person—incredibly kind.
Even when I wasn't very good yet, he always let me play anyway and took me on as an ally.
He was always very respectful, and it was always fun to play with him.
As I got better, we had some great team games.
In my opinion, he had the strongest power on the entire server back then. You knew what was coming, but you couldn’t stop him. He took that power to a whole new level.
I miss you, bro. I hope you’re doing well.

SD-Prophecy
But back then, I thought his game was incredibly good.
I think he had more talent than many people realize; in my opinion, he wasn't properly appreciated by many.
To me, he was a very underrated player—at least that's how I remember it in reflection.
He was actually a top player—I didn't have much contact with him, since I wasn't that good back then.

Foonat
An incredibly talented player with  incredible teamwork skills.
The last thing I heard was that he was a professor at a university and didn't have time anymore.
Anyway, I remember him and have nothing but good memories.

Bara
Bara was an incredible talent. He was the “Smurf King,” which is probably why many people don't remember him. He was a really great and helpful person. One of the most talented players who ever played.
I hope you're doing well.

Its_Hot_in_HeRr
hotttttttttttyyyyy Probably the best European player we've ever had.
An incredibly great, lovable person.
He always helped me get better. Even when I played badly, he was never angry.
A fantastic 1v1 player, a magical 2v2 player...
It’s a shame he doesn’t play anymore.
I hope you’re doing well and that you’ll come back someday. We miss you!

R.I.P
RIP, the Finnish leader.
There were only two options: either you loved him or you hated him.
He gave his all for his friends; he never let you down.
If anyone insulted you, the big brother would come and protect you.
For him, it was always important to be loyal and to be there for the group.
Looking back, I regret a little that we didn’t return the favor.
There were often arguments, which is why he got banned or banned others. That made it hard to have good games.
Many people forget how incredibly good he was. Huge talent—thanks for everything! Come back—we love you.

(DI)KHB
For a long time, KHB was rightly considered the best player of all time.
He was very good in 1v1, but his team play was extremely efficient and incredibly good.
Every now and then he pops in to play a few games—but very rarely.
He had a mind of his own and wasn’t afraid to speak up when something didn’t sit right with him. That’s why he had many friends, but also many enemies.
Back then, I really enjoyed watching his games as a spectator. Without a doubt, a world-class player!

dugs
He was never the fastest, never the best, but he was funny and a great team player.
After all these years, I still remember that and the good, fun times we had. I hope you're doing well, buddy!

braviet
Man, I can't make a list without mentioning Braviet.
An incredibly awesome person, always positive, and an incredibly versatile player.
One of the best early-game players in Warcraft 2 of all time.
He had lots of all-in strategies that let him take out top players in seconds.
He knows every map and is a great player on all of them—whether land, water, or chop—an incredible all-around player and a great ally.
Braviet, we miss you, buddy.

Ywfn
One of the most active Warcraft 2 players I knew.
He was online every day, and we competed against each other every day.
Ywfn was a 2v2 expert.
He knew everything about the game and was always polite and a role model for all players.
Unfortunately, he was gone from one day to the next.
Ywfn, we miss you; I hope you're doing well.

edit: ch0ppy - Rest in peace, my friend. An incredibly wonderful person who, sadly, has left us. I played a few games of Chop with him, and in return, he sometimes played GOW with me.
But most of the time, we played Chop or Jammin'. He was always polite, never angry, and always respectful.

un4 and viruz i love you guys !

U8 wasn't pro when most of these guys played. And those that are on here that have, have or likely have beat him before.

I still remember how I beat some SD guys in 2v2 tours with someone when I just started playing multiplayer 2005?, it was so fun when other players started trashtalk to them

most of this list were not a  pro so not sure what you are talking about that harry

I don't know them all too well myself. I assumed PB named good players but the ones I do know are good. I also recall people saying you weren't anything special back then, so I assumed any top/pro players have beat you at some point. Have you 1v1ed them all? The quote implies that you've played them all and they haven't beat you. Your response implies that as well.

"pretty sure none of these players ever beat u8t once tho xd"

I would argue poscow~, Braviet, Jesk, Viruz, KHB, and Bara were pro at some point. I know Jesk, Viruz, and Braviet have beat you, so that already disproves his quote.

Hot might be in that conversation too in terms of high skill level/pro. I've seen YWFN in a 1v1 finals tournament vs WG a long time ago. I thought Dugs/SG have won a 2s tournament before (I may be wrong though). I know KHB/SG beat you guys in 2s. Legalos 1v1s a LOT or did. I think he was a little short of a top player discussion. I imagine at some point you two met?

If someone was playing w2 10 years and he was good after 5 years it doesnt mean he will be bad at end his carier, unless he stop playing so it

Ywfn was good but never pro, braviet was average when there were mamy players and its not my Words, less players mean someone who were average will be good, bad will be average, noob will be just bad

I was playing w2 rare 06-15

Fyi: Most players now are just gow players which mean they are bad

I'm not sure what your first sentence is about. Because I used the words "were pro"? They almost all stopped playing it. Or because if YWFN was "pro" before, he wasn't at the end of his career? The longer the game is out and the longer people play, the better they get. Many of those who were at the top, who don't play anymore, wouldn't be quite as dominant years after they quit. If you're in a final's championship, you beat out everyone else? Maybe there were no pros in the tournament?

There are 16 people on this list, let's not argue about 1 of them you disagree with. None of those matter. It's just a tangent/deflection. My response was to disprove Ring's response.

No you are wrong everyone got his own roof which cant gain more skill, someone after 1 year someone after 10 years its random, if that's true what you said, person who Play longest would be best and not possible to be beat by anyone and its not about warcraft2 but everything

I gave example with 2 names
